They changed the handbook this year with language about not being equal PT. It’s up to the individual coaches. I can tell you for a fact for the 28s this fall both teams needed to win to move up
In rankings for this summer to be in better brackets. It was not equal playing time

If Cap moves away from equal PT what is their selling point? The blue team isn’t in the top brackets and need more than unequal playing to get there.

Lots of BLC players, some YJ and stars, definitely including a few mediocre head scratchers. We also know a bunch of girls who got shut out completely who we would have thought of as blue contenders. Some strange decisions for sure

Also received a blue offer. Real head scratcher is an understatement. Know most of these players and something seems off.

Everyone has focused on club affiliation to make predictions on Blue make-up. However, HS affiliation may be playing a key role and leading to some of the head scratcher decisions. Look at who is coaching the Blue team, and you could easily see a big number of Saints girls selected. JB also seems to be throwing her weight around a bit with an increasing number of NCS girls selected. Would not be surprised to see some upcoming 29 Blue changes based on High School affiliation as well.

despite the perception the HS coach does not have much influence with these schools. Does not know newer, younger coaches.

who is coaching the blue team??

Kathy Jenkins

That’s a new rumor.

Facts.. KJ/BL coaching blue
Branden Cullinan and Abby Wok Orange

Just ask any of the cap academy 2030 parents who the Capital blue coach is - winner-winner chicken dinner > BL. Ask the cap parents about their 1:1 calls with BL - if they’re honest, they’ll tell you what a joke it was. At least the one call with GJ was decent, at best. Kind of like a half baked fart - a lot of air, but disappointing! Capital Blue will still be a solid team. Heck, based on some questionable selections, orange may even end up being better.

I don’t understand. Is BL not a good coach?

I’m sure someone would be thrilled to accept the spot if you decline!

They will say equal playing time at the beginning but as time goes by you will see a change.

Wow! If you haven’t played for KJ before you’re in for a treat. Get mind over talent on speed dial

Will add, from a different age group. If you are not a Saint, good luck with playing time. Capital is moving away from equal playing time btw.

I think the idea there is to get girls who aren’t Saints to transfer.

How is it favoritism? The private school girls have been playing on their school lax teams for two years instead of just playing rec. The reps that private school players get elevate their skills. The best players are selected.

Playing on a middle school team does t guarantee better skills. There are plenty of public school girls that aren’t playing middle school and are just as strong if not stronger than privates.

The best private school 8th graders also played high school JV all spring, which is a higher level of play with 2 hour daily practices in addition to their club

They may be as talented but the private school girls get three or more months of additional coaching and competition, often by the high school coaches, which puts them at a big advantage.
