Subject: Bridgerton Season 4
Maybe the whole season will mostly focus on other people, and at the end Francesca will stand up, stamp her foot, and announce she's in a relationship with the cousin. The family will go silent for a beat, then continue as normal after the Queen winks and nods. It will be the Don't Ask Don't Tell of Regency.

It will be Eloise and Francesca, i'm sure in the same season. In the books, gregory and hyacinth were much later than Eloise.

And Francesca creates the same problem. I just think they are going to skip over some of the most clear sources of drama for this romance, in order to deliver a super-woke version of Regency England. Instead of a period drama, it's like watching Gen Zers hook up at Ren Fair. Ugh.
Woman on Fire (French film from a few years ago) did a great portrayal of two women falling in love in the 18th century, with all the drama and consternation. But it was much more period accurate. Also explored what it was like to be a female painter at the time, and especially one doing portraiture. Really good movie.

The weird politics on Bridgerton are actually working against them doing a lesbian romance. Normally, a lesbian romance set in Regency England could be pretty steamy because the tension is built right in -- forbidden romance is an effective romance trope.

DP I do not think Sophie is beautiful. I do think she is attractive, but beautiful is not how I would describe her. I would describe the actress who played the kind-hearted stepsister as beautiful. Kate is beautiful

Kate is darker than Edwina, and a lot of people cannot see beyond the dark complexion to recognize beauty. But anyone looking at Simone Ashley and not seeing beauty is blind and/or prejudiced against darker skin. That does not take anything away from the actress Charithra Chandra, who played Edwina.

Bridgerton is a “vibes” show. I put Emily in Paris in the bucket too. The plot isn’t the most important part, the aesthetic and lifestyle is, the story is secondary.
