a club that is directly recruiting entire teams from neighboring clubs. it's not just GFR.....
what other clubs?
herndon, loudoun and mclean coaches have all been approached to move teams to rbc
how do you know this
because i'm one of them lol
Are you moving your team or did you tell them to kick rocks?
not moving my team. to be fair, they're offering a great incentive to coaches and families but ultimately these clubs don't do well and the shenanigans are a little too much for me.
What's the sales pitch? Do you have any more tea to spill? Fields? Leagues?
Plan appears to be to play NSCL under Loudoun affiliation. They seem to be trying to get teams to move without their direct involvement -- i.e. having players/families independently submit requests for cards to be transferred. It all seems very shady and like a poorly disguised attempt to avoid any non-competition obligations, etc.
Breaking news - New club is trying to recruit players and coaches. I'm one of those coaches as well. Explain to me how anyone can stop anyone from going to tryouts for RBFC, HYS, Loudoun or McLean. Happens every year, proving that Sarah and Mark followed Coach X, Y and Z will be impossible.
Ask any coach how many kids they ask to come out to tryouts and then they bring their friends. 80% of the reason these coaches are hired is because they can bring kids, not to compete or develop but to pay their club instead of another. It happened with Loudoun East on the girls side, this is nothing new.

Do you really think that anyone that's leaving in June would come out and say it now? Tell the parents? Be serious... wait and see in June/July

oh hi, it's great falls 2.0
i guess all those folks suddenly forget why gf merged with reston years ago?
These are almost all GFR board rejects - either got booted off or couldn’t get voted on in the first place.
It’s fairly irrelevant though. The problem they all had was with RS and since the club had such instability last year until he stepped down it’s understandable why they would want to start something new. Now he’s gone and this club hasn’t gotten in too deep to realize the coaches they thought would be easy prey aren’t actually gonna leave.
Lol-you are so BITTER!
Not at all. Don’t even have kids at GFR after this spring but I feel sorry for the parents getting taken advantage of and moving to this new club run by a bunch of clowns. Some of the parents here seem truly confused about all this and it’s too bad. FA is great with the little girls but I wouldn’t risk moving to an unestablished club for her (if she’s even going - she seems to be telling different people differ stories).
Okay dude. I actually know some of the parents involved in this and it’s pretty traumatic for them and their families right now being asked to leave a club and risk what may or may not happen - they’re being asked to sign on to this new club by tomorrow night without any real guarantees of what this club will be. The obvious choice might seem to stay at GFR but then they risk losing out on playing with their friends in the spring. For these young girls that’s a big deal. The fact that a current GFR TM is on the board of this new club and is cold calling parents pushing this is absolutely crazy. I’m glad it’s not me but I do feel for them.
You can relax. The parents are aligned and most of us aren’t going anywhere. It was a whirlwind of a day but clearer heads prevailed.
