Such suffering.

Margaritas with an alleged wife beater who was arrested wearing gang symbols chilling with MS 13 members and deported for being illegal. What a hill to die on Maryland. Maryland is for . . the wealthy, wife beaters, and gangs. Glad I left.

You’re lucky to be gone. Our new governor is a disaster. Hogan handed him a huge budget surplus and moron Wes Moore has spent us into a huge deficit. Disgusting.

He may get further due process, but may still ultimately never return to the U.S. It's quite possible that there will be a rehearing on his deportation hold to El Salvador because it is a far different country than it was in 2019 (from a gang perspective). Would everyone here agree that if that hold is lifted, he can be deported to El Salvador?

Why are you trying to crowdsource legal opinions? Weird.

Conservatives, don’t you worry about precedent? If the government can just deport people, do you worry that when a new leader takes office he will deport you without cause??

Yes they have somehow turned this into “Dems like criminals and won’t deport anyone.” I understand immigrants can face deportation but it has to be done legally. There is no safety for anyone if the law doesn’t apply, truth isn’t a defense, rights are theoretical, and the government can just pluck you up, send you to prison in another country, and then wash their hands of you.

It isn’t just Democrats who are fighting for this guy; the courts are as well. The law is in his favor; he can’t be deported without due process.

It’s "undocumented first," every time.

The very people who voted for these Democrats should feel completely betrayed. And let’s not forget another top priority for them: making sure biological men can compete in women’s sports. It is all part of the same strategy: expand their future voter base through colleges, visas, and immigration pathways. They do not even have to worry about keeping their current Democrat base happy because they know they will keep pushing that vote button no matter what.

I am a moderate and following this case not because I think this man is innocent but because I am concerned when our executive leadership does not follow our own laws, constitution, supreme court ruling. If you are fine with the executive not following the judiciary, that WILL bite you in the ass when it is a different party in power. It is noteworthy that other than the joke of Fox News, other conservative outlets such as National Review have written articles criticizing the Trump administration on this case.

It is not just Democrats who are concerned, and if you think that, you are not paying attention.

I agree. The lack of due process is appalling. But if we're talking politics, I think it's bad optics for Democratic senators to go to El Salvador and get wrapped up with this guy. He has MS-13 tattooed on his fingers for goodness sake. And he's a wife beater. Republicans are going to town on Democrats once again prioritizing criminals instead of victims. This guy is the wrong hill to die on.

The "hill" is about our leadership obeying our judiciary. Yes will die on that hill because jumping off the hill here is very concerning for the future of our country. Thar is why many conservatives are also concerned.

No he isn’t. Because he’s the test case. Due process is EVERYONE. You can’t sacrifice it for one without sacrificing it for all. He’s the only hill to die on because due process if you’re a citizen or legal resident is a RIGHT- it has to apply to all.

Everyone agrees that if the government follows the laws and gives this man due process it may ultimately mean he is lawfully and legally deported to a country that is not El Salvador, per his protection order, and is not PRISON. Yes.

The biggest concern most folks have is the government willfully defying the law and the implications for the future. That is why many conservatives are also unhappy and articles published criticizing the Trump administration in conservative media.

As a reminder, whatever you excuse for Trump can then be exploited by other future leaders whose politics you do jot agree with. There should be bipartisan agreement that the current administration comply with Supreme Court rulings.
