What gets me is that people like you don’t understand that the only way the border situation is going to truly change is to get to the source of the problem which is employers- employers who do nothing to confirm the status of their employees because they prefer to hire illegal immigrants and pay them much lower wage for jobs in Americans refuse to do. Until business is held accountable nothing will change! There is no political will to make these changes by business.


Or, you can do what Trump is doing. I didn’t vote for the guy and never would - I voted for KH despite the fact that I despise what the Democrats have become (well, the loud bunch of it).

But you still have to give to guy - his policy re illegal immigration is quite effective - send troops to the border, eliminate bullshit protections such as TSP for people that shouldn’t even have been allowed into this country, make the illegal immigrants here fearful to even go to church/school/open their doors, make a big spectacle of sending some to a black legal hole such as Guantanamo, etc.

Pretty effective in the long run.

I’m a lifelong liberal, but frankly, I think you have to suck it up buttercup. It’s time for Dems to hunker down and take care of their own. Many of us will benefit from Trump’s economics; I honestly believe we need to take a break from trying to save voters from themselves and let them actually feel the consequences of their actions. I’m tired of hearing conservatives whine about Obamacare but then constantly repost or forward GoFundme links for families who don’t have healthcare/emergency funds/safety nets. Red states pass draconian laws on healthcare access or deterring healthcare providers, rather than helping citizens travel to blue states, maybe they have to make a decision whether they live with it, move, or vote for new leaders. They complain illegals or minorities are abusing welfare - stop funding food pantries and let them see what SNAP and WIC provide for their neighbors and family. Democrats have taken on a role as a safety net for the nation, but honestly the nation’s poor and disadvantaged don’t give a sh*t. Increasingly they are single issue voters, voting against their interest. So let them see what that means - they bought into the idea that they can raise themselves up by their bootstraps, so now is the time. I’m going to prepare myself and my family for worst case scenario, and would rather throw a smaller amount of cash at local elections and legal funds.

This is exactly what I did. That was a Christmas present to myself. I am taking care of my little family and not thinking about the others. I even stopped my charitable donations to the food bank and churches. So many people chose not to vote or voted for Trump's policies. They can feel the impact on his policies because Trump doesn't give an fu&&k about them.


You are acting illogically. You are punishing innocent people just to satisfy your petty frustration? People need food. They are hungry and you will withhold charity to punish them for what? Your own feelings? That’s sick. That’s not progressive or empathetic at all.


They need food they can pull themselves from their bootstraps. Go hunt some squirrels, deer, giant pigs (I just heard they are a huge problem for farmers in the south and the border with Canada).

And they can get out of their asses and vote to protect their interests.

I’m a fed employee and just browsed some of the comments on Twitter basically wishing financial ruin on us all, claiming we are a scourge on society, etc. I’ve given 15 years of my life to a job that has a very real impact on the lives of some of this country’s most vulnerable, low income people. Other feds are keeping air travel safe, keeping our food supply safe, etc. And in return we are hated by the people who voted for Trump.

Are you nuts, thinking RFJ Jr. and Trump are going to "change all that?" Your guy Trump is at this very moment gutting the agencies responsible for food safety. He is rolling back regulations trying to keep PFAS, microplastics and carcinogens out of your food. This last week Trump and DOGE fired hundreds of scientists and did things like gutting the EPA and other agencies on the front lines of keeping contaminants and pollutants and carcinogens and endocrine disruptors and other harmful things out of your food. You need to do a whole lot more research and reading on what's REALLY going on right now.

I have heard they use market power to restrain trade and fix prices in violation of 15 USC Chapter 1.

Is this a valid avenue to pursue and investigate?
