Post-fall guesses

1. SJC. Way too many commits to think lower
2. Prep. They have a complete team
3. Landon. Gonna miss 70% at fogo
4. Bullis. Thin but talent remains
5. PVI. one last try for the 26’s before collapse
6. GC. Super selfish seniors
7. Gonzaga. Historical respect but a new direction needed
8. STA. good goalie and poles and fo and zero offense.
9. Heights. Such a weak schedule
10. Dematha. The 25’s are gone.
HM Langley has some offense, Yorktown has a 5 star, Urbana has a program. Maybe a public breaks in this year.

Pretty good analysis. Don't agree with all of it. I do with your top 3, and agree that those publics, and maybe a couple others, will compete with the privates. I can't wait for March!

GZ's really gonna struggle to stay in the top 10. Could see them drop to 5th in WCAC. It's a tough sell to get the lax families to commute into the heart of DC when there are equal choices a lot closer to home.

Gonzaga program is living in the past.

GC has now leaped frog the Eagles

I didn’t see enough teams at NHSLS on Saturday.

My biggest takeaway was how ordinary Bullis looked. Good Counsel looks legit offensively.

It’s fall ball, a lot can happen between now and March 1st.

Landon classes

26 - weaker than typical
27 - good
28- weaker than typical, but probably better than 26
29 - good

Landon is not showing any signs of falling off a cliff. The Bears have some talent in the middle schools ranks and current 2029 class is very good. Landon the past two seasons was in a league of their own in DC, their 2026 class is weak so if there is a year they take a step back down the ladder, it’s this coming spring.

Landon loses 6 games this year. 26's aren't that good and no fogo in the 27 or 28 class. Also, the 26 fogo has been hurt and absent in the last 2 nhsls events. Gonna be tough running a pole out there on fo.

Zero pipeline these days headed to Falls road.

Same can be said of Landon. Tough to attract when the tuition is $25k higher than DC area privates. Bullis spends all their scholarship capital on football, basketball and track. Landon barely does anything for sports, and they are so over-loaded with non-education administration they don't have the room to do it.

huh? it's strange that great programs could fall so quickly, especially Landon, which is not showing any signs of falling off. given the demographic of lacrosse in the DMV, I would expect there are plenty of families who are not concerned about differences in tuition or scholarship availability.

SJC and their 15 or so commits would like a word. GC played a B schedule yesterday.

Hey Wes, your program has been irrelevant since Garrett Ince moved on. Focus on beating Ryken this coming Spring and generating some offense.

The Cadets offense was terrible last year.
The year prior, John Draley was talented enough to mask how lifeless and stagnant the offense was.

It doesn’t matter how much individual talent a coach recruits to his program if they don’t play well together.

Anonymous wrote:NHSLS for the DMV after one: Landon beat Malvern by 3, never threatened. Prep crushed Hotchkiss by 8. Bullis shellacked by STAB by 14. Gonzaga convincingly over a Canadian school by 9. Good Counsel over Hill Academy B squad by 1. PVI loses a close one to a CA team. Biggest takeaway: Bullis might have a very long season ahead.

Starting the spring of 2027, Bullis will lose to Prep, Landon and similar programs by 14 every year. Will lose to STA too. There is absolutely no talent in its 2029-2030 pipeline.

+1

Lots of over hyped commits on Military Road. Lets see if they can put together a good campaign in 2026.
