This is tricky. Plenty of teams where -depending on the grade - some girls don’t want to pass to certain other girls because they don’t want to help a girl that they don’t like look good - sometimes the coach catches on sometimes not.

My daughter wants to go to SJC bc she noticed in one of the videos for recruiting (she watched lots of kids from different schools) that a child showed herself being genuinely happy for another player when they scored. That spoke to her as she’s always the player looking for a stick click after a great play.

Hard to argue with that.

I'd look to the lower division ISL teams if that is your goal for your kid (as opposed to being merely curious). Club is what matters for recruiting, so I would highly recommend you find the right fit with the school rather than the team. You want your daughter to do well academically, be able to engage in a variety of extra-curriculars and not be so pained to be around her teammates that she wants to quit lacrosse. (Caveat: If you can play for SSSAS, and KJ likes your kid, she may be able to help with recruiting -- I don't believe any of the other current ISL coaches are likely in that position).

From outside observation seems like SJC group has a nice culture.

Semis
Friday - Winner of 5/4 at Winner of 8/1

GC going to roll through the playoffs. SJC gave them a bit of a challenge but never really got quite close enough. Hopefully they’ll give them a push in the championship. GC is a Young team that isn’t quite up there with the best B’more teams but I’d like to see them play a McD or SPSG next year. Hopefully a closer matchup than this year…

Rehashing past statements to settle a score:

Arguing about who is first tier vs. second tier;

Calling players out by numbers for play;

Creating derogatory nicknames for coaches while they coach a game that they love;

Calling out coaches or athletic directors for how they do their job;

All examples of anger consuming us and leading to bad behavior. Will personally try to do better in the future. Hope others do as well.

The visi coaching carousel yet again…

Also, can't overlook that Potomac has had different coaching in the last few weeks. Positive change?

Absolutely has made a difference for Potomac. Elle Golub is a great coach. Gets the best from her players because she treats them with kindness and respect and knows how to work with what she has talent-wise. Claire Bordley is the opposite. Would be great if this became a permanent change.

Current Potomac parent here and we all know who you are... your daughter graduated a year ago, time for you to move on...
