I love this show, but that's a fair criticism.

You can see Severance as a puzzle box and/or allegory about belief and/or story about love and integrity. But it is not perfect. For a show with similar themes that plays them out exquisitely, see "The Americans" (though there's way more violence -- and sex -- and no goats).


Nobody wants sex without goats.


What about just yoga with goats?

For saving Gemma, or for saving himself? Lot of discussion about how the innies in season 2 are going through adolescence, and I think that's apt.


No I think they are adults unspoiled by the world and pure: they have ethics and a heart well beyond those of their outies, but also a strong sense of self preservation bc they are deeply aware of their hyper mortality. Innie Mark did the correct moral thing without compromising his own self.

He freed Gemma but he also knew if he left he'd likely never wake up again and certainly never see Helly again. Sure there's not a plan here, but Outie Mark would potentially have no way of waking Innie Mark up again even if he was willing to risk it. And definitely no way to see Helly.

It's a very slow show, minute by minute. You need to watch 3 episode to see enough to have an informed opinion.

It's okay if it's not your cup of tea and I do think if you really struggled throughthe first episode this one isn't for you. Not everyone has to like everything.

Np this is helpful advice. I keep hearing from people who I know have similar tv taste to me that this is a great show but I’ve tried to start it twice and I can’t get into it.
