One of the great feats of politicians like these two is to induce you to vote on their supposed policy positions rather than whether they can properly execute the functions of an elected official.

This is wise. I don't know where I read it recently, but someone was making that argument that progressives have poured most of their effort into policy positions and relatively little effort into administration. And now an inability to govern is ending up dooming their policy positions.

If that is the metric, then I would say Frumin managing to get Friendship Heights neighbors to support the Lisner Home expansion was a major win.

The redistricting maps needed to be completed so the nomination petitions and ballots can be prepared for the fall.

Cheh will be a lame duck, Mendelson’s authority will be reestablished, coupled with a Goulet victory and dominating Bowser performance will provide a clear will of the people for centrist/moderation. The Robert White/Silverman/Nadeau wing will become immediately ostracized - taking into account the political winds throughout the country. People don’t want to live in the failed city their policies are leading towards.
