I'm not PP but Columbia and Cornell are the only Ivies I know first-hand who've admitted URMs in recent years with completely mediocre stats. Athletes and non-athletes with stats that weren't close to UVA or VTech requirements. Everyone in our orbit was like w-t-f.

+1. Our parents probably didn’t think that Stanford is in the same level as HYP. Our kids will probably say to our grandchildren that UPenn isn’t in the same level as CHYMPS.


This is very true. Stanford really changed from being the HYP backup school to HYPS in thirty years. I wonder how long it would take Columbia to join that acronym, or Penn for that matter. Both have the strongest potential to become a peer school, and already are, in quite a few different aspects.

Most elite colleges don’t have an undergrad business school and are doing just fine. Harvard Yale Princeton MIT Stanford Columbia Chicago Duke etc.
