Certain coaches have driven players away due to their special combination of negativity and incompetence. I know one girls team who will probably struggle a lot this year because of how many players they had to pull up from a lower team to fill the open spots.

If you look at how that team performed in thei LS tournament last weekend that's accurate. Hard to stay competitive when your few talented players jumped ship.

No. The only ones that stay are the ones that can't club hop to similar leveled teams. I know families that try to leave every year like clockwork. The ones that stay do so mostly because of injured egos that their princess can't make Loudoun's top team when they are on the Valor RL team. I just smile and nod.

Are you thinking of U9-U11? Or girls? I know for a fact that U8 boys, which is 2018 born kids, has a full slate of teams and coaches. But U9-U11 being depleted would make sense since Valor marketed their Valor Lite thing to families whose kids were U8-U10 last spring. U9 is the youngest age division for travel. I thought people had to sign up for Valor lite as a team, so I am surprised that many people went for it.

And this is why we are over 300 pages we are complaining that too many families signed up for a program offered.

Valor will not be happy until both SYA and CYA rec programs are only for tiny little kids and U8+ poor kids only. Everyone who CAN pay will be funneled to a Valor money making scheme.

Valor’s PE just like Private Equity, hollowing out and destroying the rec program to make a few extra bucks in the short term.

SYA rec is terrible. Don't go to SYA. Try Sterling or Herndon.

I'm not sure where you live, but I've been able to get on a Sterling rec team at the last minute. They always have enough kids to break up properly by age group.

CYA rec had to combine age groups bc too many kids signed up for Baby Valor?

This makes no sense.

And that is not how NCSL assigns divisions.

Sorry, MLS B Team Parent.
well to be fair Valors RL boys are trash. So i can see the confusion.

They’re trash, sure. But don’t worry in 15 years they’ll be happy to give your MLS Next kid a job, assuming he finishes college. And just FYI: nobody cares about youth soccer accomplishments. I even asked a current Valor player and future CEO...his words, not mine: ‘we don’t hand out signing bonuses for U15 goals.’”
