DD in at SMCM and Miami U (OH), with generous merit at each. Waiting on Virginia Tech and W&M, the latter of which will probably be more of a reach as she didn’t bother doing the supplemental essay.

Deferred Northeastern and Michigan, and accepted to UT Austin. Really feels like a crap shoot.

About Northeastern, they have invested in modernizing the campus and building more housing. It has historically been a commuter-focused school.

PP again- forgot to add Loyola Chicago, rolling admission, nice campus on Lake Michigan, cold but school spirit/basketball.

One of the PP here. If you are interested in last minute additional Catholic universities, there are Feb 1 deadlines for Gonzaga, Creighton, Marquette, etc. (And TCU, though not Catholic.)

While the deadline passed for Holy Cross, their app is technically not closed yet in Common App. Same for Santa Clara, LMU, Fairfield, Providence, Fordham.

Such an unpredictable season, I'm beginning to feel like it's time to throw the spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks.

Keep the faith! There are many good colleges with rolling admissions that your kid can apply to now, if you want to recalibrate and try again.

My son who got in Richmond had a 4.7 weighted GPA, full IB, good extracurriculars. He didn't send in a test score. No merit.

Only about 10% get merit but jeez, you’d think your son would be in that group.

I'm sorry, PP, and I can relate (distance learning senior year has NOT been kind to my kid's GPA). But you have to keep the faith, and hopefully one of the deferrals will plan out.

Remember, one acceptance is all you need!

Yikes!! This is what I am afraid of (waiting for kid to get home and check his decision). UM looks like a safety per the Naviance scattergram, but this would be the year that Naviance is less reliable than ever.

My son is in at UMD, deferred at Northeastern (which was a reach).

He's happy. A few weeks ago he told me that if he got into UMD, that's where he would go.

Straight-up rejected here too, surprised that it wasn't a deferral. 3.75/1470, 8 APs, URM, full pay. Worried for March decisions. Has a safety in hand, so there's that, but, not ideal...
