ECNL is not going to restructure themselves and fold everybody in. Nor are they going to let ex-DA clubs draw away players from its current members.

In the future, yes there’s potential to fold in clubs to grow it even further. But there’s already a regional league of ECNL, not that it’s impressive. Yes, this does suck but our league won’t just take you because you want the highest league. Earn it, as our clubs did.

Said someone with zero knowledge. ECNL will add in Arlington and FCV. There will most likely not be tryouts anywhere anytime soon.

Said by someone else with zero knowledge.

Yeah instead of rebutting reasoning, copy and paste “no knowledge”. Arlington and FCV may get there. If they show their value. But why would ECNL just fold them in immediately following the end of DA? ECNL isn’t there to protect current big clubs—it’s the be the elite playing conference. Give it a year or two, see how they can handle themselves without DA patch. If their best players leave, so be it. I don’t wish any bad karma to ex-DA clubs, but I don’t want ECNL protecting them. DD was U18 this year before it all came to a halt.

They fold in FCV because they have 4 of 6 age groups with one of the best team in the country. No other club can say that. Easy button emoji!

University of Cincinnati cut their mens' soccer program yesterday due to budget cuts. I think it must have been the low man on the totem pole in the school's athletic budget, but you do have to wonder about other schools.

American football and basketball basically pay for all other sports at University. With the loss of March Madness money for conferences and teams last year, I think we'll see a tighter than normal college sports budget next year. The loss of American football money would be catastrophic for many schools if that were to occur.

Nobody is playing soccer for 6-12 months. Newsflash: if you are a HS senior and can’t have prom or graduation you are even more upset.

Everyone is upset right now. Your kid isn’t special. Even less so, without the DA patch now.

6-12 months? Are you crazy! No way will they shut down okay for that long.

It’s a really good chance. College football(lot more money vs all of travel soccer) is a big question for the fall. This really will not be back to normal till spring 2021 with many clubs folding. Each state will open on its own. Virginia could keep school closed for the fall and North Carolina could open. This is why ECNL most likely will try expand clubs within a state. If you get 4-8 clubs in a state they can play each other as their state opens.

+1

I don't know who all these people are with their heads in the sand. But, I assume you also were one of the people realizing DA would be closed many, many pages ago before the 'official' announcement.

It's better to consider the possibilities, prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

If they were business-minded, they would just put them in ECNL Regional League first.

Universities are talking about not going back until 2021. Public school systems are considering the same. College sports are getting cancelled.

You said I was crazy when I told you DA would be terminated

My kids already play in EDP. It has pro/rel. We have beaten DA teams in scrimmages.

There isn’t ridiculous travel either. EDP was the one league that didn’t blackball and prevent entry like the monopoly of a-hole Clubs that band together and try to protect their $ stream.

Karma. Good for all of these f@ckers. Burn it to the ground.

As usual, it sounds like the parents are suffering more than the kids. Losing their sh@t.

The kids will be fine. This is all about parental pride.

USSF sucks balls. They sure didn’t have the kids in mind when they switched to birth year Vs calendar year so 8 and 9 year olds could no longer play with classmates.

It’s been one colossal f@ck job since the 70s in the US with this sport.

Anonymous wrote:This is all so dumb of course they will let in Arlington and FCV. These are established elites. This is not like bringing in a new untested ECNl team. They are also smart enough to know everything is in shaker ground including playing fall season. This is good revenue. This also calms traveling because even if soccer will be played there will be hot spots with the virus shutting things down and some parents will not travel. Some parents even with very very talented kids will not travel right now and maybe not for a year. ECNl also looks like the leader by working this out and I am sure US Soccer will appreciate this. Signed ECNL parent with no dog in the DA fight. I welcome more clubs and less travel and also less immediate stress for young kids. The parents who are gloating and hoping kids will suffer are horrible people.

Maybe they should fold them into ECNL Regional league first?

Right. Or wait a year or two as things settle down (as you referred to the shaky ground). They'll get that revenue because ECNL is the leader (as you said); there's no rush to fold in clubs just to help them out, nor USSF. "Those parents unwilling to travel"--does it make a difference going from to Richmond or North Carolina? Not sure if you're referring to economics or coronavirus, but if they're paying for ECNL they can pay for the extra miles, and if they're afraid of coronavirus I'd recommend staying at home. ECNL will be setting themselves up and have already been talking to their clubs. Hopeful wishes won't change anything. I honestly recommend you tryout at an ECNL club.

So, in summary you have a leadership change that happened essentially in the dark of the night as a result of a lawsuit, that made an arbitrary, large scale decision to scuttle an organization. The new leadership tipped off cronies of a competing organization and business associates in a member club so they could bail out before the storm, which obviously fueled the rumor mill. That club will potentially financially benefit at the expense of others who were not afforded that insider information.

Any lawyers on this thread who are DA parents? My sense of what’s happened here is that it’s at the very least unethical and possibly illegal.

Regardless, not a good start for a new regime in a questionable organization, historically.

If someone sues please also sue the USWNT, the NWSL, and China!

The guy who called Sue... SMDH Sucks to Suck, welcome to the hypocrisy of ever single sports forum out there. You will always know more by who you know. Don’t get upset because this time your club didn’t benefit from it and you weren’t sitting at the cool kids table at Sweetwater Tavern to know the inside scoop.

People like you are exactly why those laws are in place.

Lol but yet FCV still exists. At lest Di Dr won’t be able to ruin the recruiting process anymore and corrupt the girls Soccer side.

1. I’m not FCV and
2. Informing external parties of governing bodies internal decisions that financially benefit the external party is illegal.

So true. Now here is the question, how would one prove this? It’s a deep dark rabbit hole that will never be explored.

Are you sure about that? You’ve just told thousands of affluent people to pound sand and good luck getting an ECNL membership for your club or MLS meal ticket, not to mention the bitter politics that led up to this new junta’s reign.

You don’t think there’s motive and financials to pursue something to bring down this new corrupt group? You must not be from DC.
