However, the prosecutors are using the maximum possible sentence based on federal sentencing guidelines as their threat.

A legal analyst was trying to spin that as knowledge of fraud. I disagree those words specifically underscore the idea that both Lori and her husband thought this was a legitimate “side door”. I think they will have a strong defense that Singer essentially conned them into the scheme. They aren’t college educated. They didn’t apply to university. They might have a strong defense.

She was. Lori has been offered THREE deals alongside all the other parents.

Felicity took the 1st deal. A third of the parents took the 2nd deal over the summer. Now she has just passed up a 3rd deal and is facing 60 YEARS IN PRISON.

Lori gets no sympathy from me. Whining that she's scared for prison and is miserable. Yet she won't take an offer. Felicity got hers over and done with and is now free to live her life while Lori is looking at enough time that she could die behind bars.
