That will be their 3rd ID session this spring (other two were already held), so probably yes.

If you are interested just email Tom and come to a practice.

It looks like George Hales has taken the reins. Everything important us being done by him, so I'd say email George. that's ghales@washspirit.com.

Wow.

Wow is right. Not the right answer for long-term success at WSVA.

Why? George is an excellent coach.

What makes him an excellent coach? Serious question.

Same question here. The lack of improvement from year to year for the U17s? The -63 goal differential in 19 games? The style of play shown here? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmN8rgWl8-Y

Excellent in what way?

You can't look at scoreboards to see the improvement because the VA side has been plagued by large rosters and play ups. Spirit VA took on players they shouldn't have and played up players the shouldn't have. That impacts the entire squad for multiple age groups.

Since you choose to pick on the U17s, they have an excellent 03 goal playing on the 19s, a first class 02 centerback again up on the 19s, and a midfielder and a forward. All of these players could have been difference makers of the 17s.

The 17s have also constantly had players thrust on them that shouldn't be there, on the field and in goal.

All of the teams have had this problem. Tighten the rosters, move players to their correct age group, and see the difference. Some people think if your kid isn't playing up, they aren't good, which is ridiculous. Great players play at age all the time.

Lol. Agreed. However, enjoy your playups this weekend.

Spin Doctor... nice.

Lol! Every team, every weekend.

I'm told next year will be different. I believe Spirit has such potential and some truly talented players in all age groups, so I hope it will be. If not, Spirit VA will probably collapse, if the DA doesn't kick it out.

It doesn't matter who is in charge. Some people will pick on Spirit no matter what. He is an excellent coach, very technical and very dedicated to the players. He was the one who pulled together a futsal program for Spirit this winter, something the players needed and something the boys' DA already includes as part of the program itself.

And anyone complaining about bloated rosters or other issues can thank Tom, so I don't get the hostility toward George.

WSVA has yet to prove they can recruit the proper players so doesn't matter who is in charge.
