Do parents at DA clubs still think the league is above ECNL?

Not trolling but I am curious what people think now based on the ongoing movement of DA clubs to ECNL.

FCV parents are the trolls. They do not want another strong club nearby to compete with them. They are already upset over Loudoun ending as a recruiting pipeline. Remember these same parents are so passionate or obsessed over how they compete that they fight each other on the sidelines when games don't go well.

^^^^^This guy^^^^^ what a hoot. Blasting what is clearly the strongest club in almost every ECNL/GDA age group if not all age groups.

His DD either didn't make FCV or was cut from the DA team. Am I getting warmer? Every club in the area should want consolidation of talent into fewer clubs. Makes development better. So enjoy BRYC, McLean, VDA or WSVA or wherever your DD is and get over your resentment of FCV.

^^^^ Typical FCV parent ^^^^

Loves to dish it out but can't take it.

I no longer have a dog in this fight. But it doesn't take a genius to see which clubs are doing a good job. FCV among the best in the area.

Makes sense and we can agree. FCV is the best club for ages 18-25.

Not everyone can do things right like BRYC and VDA. Good work boss.

Huh?

FCV is the best. Duh. Everyone knows that. Just ask their parents.

The Girls Elite Clubs National League is excited to announce that Rebels Soccer Club will be joining the Girls ECNL beginning in the 2019-2020 ECNL Season.
Rebels SC was founded in 1982 in Chula Vista, CA, and currently has over 120 teams. With dozens of college commits over the past several years, and a USYS National Championship in 2018, Rebels SC has built a strong reputation in the Southern California market by developing high-quality teams and players with a holistic development perspective.

“Being accepted to and joining ECNL is a tremendous moment for our club,” said Rebels SC Executive Director, Ryan Marquez. “Our goal has always been to push our girls teams to compete at the highest level possible while maintaining our possession soccer identity. ECNL is made up of the highest caliber teams and we take pride that our players will now have an opportunity to play against the best teams in the country.”

“We are pleased to welcome Rebels SC to the league as one of the top programs in the region,” said ECNL Commissioner, Jen Winnagle. “Rebels SC will provide presence in a new market in California and will strengthen the Southwest Conference overall. We look forward to working with the club and supporting their growth as they move into the nation’s top league for female youth players.”

The ECNL was created to serve players, coaches, and clubs within a holistic development environment that collaboratively raises standards in all areas of the game. Through its programming, the ECNL and its member clubs seek to lead innovation and improvement in youth club soccer, facilitate the development of the next generation of collegiate stars and national team players, and support the success of US Soccer’s national teams.

Yes, this is a defection, a DA team that has Boys U12 (which doesn't really exist at a centralized level next year), and no Girls DA.

Funny when parents on DCUM are dumbfounded by a rich persons money losing hobby.

That guy has to sell his Ferrari. It makes no sense to spend all the money on one! LMAO

That said, some club in Maryland will get DA. I would agree with previous poster about Baltimore Armour or another conglomerate being created between Pipeline/SAC similar to Armour. They have some time to figure it out. Just depends on the egos involved...

Virginia is already saturated with ECNL/DA. I would be surprised if Great Falls could keep it going after '19/'20.

Moving on.

Why would they cut it if it is self sufficient and not really affecting Spirit's bottom line in a negative sense?

I'm guessing it is with all of these rumors along with the fact they completely got rid of Super-Y.

Interesting. Hadn't noticed Super Y dissolving. I think that could be more explained away as a quality control measure. It was obviously run as a money grab and Spirit did not really care about the actual product. Coaches likely were not well vetted. Certainly there were some quality coaches but the teams were all just thrown together with little to know tryouts. At least most Super Y clubs are run by ongoing travel clubs where there club players have an opportunity to keep training with teammates while opening the teams up to outside kids. This allows for a bit more cohesion while allowing some cross pollination for outside kids.

So, while I can see Super Y going away leading one to conclude that the DA's are also doomed, I don't happen to believe that they are apples to apples.
