Another African-American politician needs to take White on in the primary -- and remind everyone how well Ward 8 was served when they last had a as their council member a bigoted buffoon who had an elastic relationship with the law.

Trayon White is headed to prison. Maybe not today, or tomorrow but soon. He's a bad seed, and lacks the character for public service. Unfortunately, he'll follow in the footsteps of some other DC politicians who have served on the Council, including the one he claims as his late mentor.

And in most other cases, the minority does get to define - or at least is given considerable consideration- what is anti-that group. So, for example, if an African-American considers something racist, that belief is accorded significant deference. White people certainly don't get to define what is racist for African-Americans, nor should they.
I just echoed your statement (but you expressed it so much better). I, like you, really was taken aback by that "it won't end well" remark. That guy is basically saying that what Jews consider to be antisemtitic doesn't hold water, and that it is up to non-Jews to decide. By that token, and again as you point out, blacks should have no say-so as to what is racist. That's up to whites to determine.
But I'll tell you.....the animosity toward Jews on this thread is much more concerning than one bigot on the DC Council. Just how pervasive is this attitude in DC? (I'm in a suburb, 20 miles out.)

Why can't you provide links? I was able to trace the first quote you provided to the Jewish Virtual Library. At the bottom of that page, it credited Wikipedia as its source. Regarding your second quote, when I Googled it, it came up on a few crazy sites including Glenn Beck's. One of the sites sourced it to a Harper's interview, but I couldn't find it on Harper's website. You now say it was from 60 Minutes via the Financial Times. Could you provide a link? I've seen the 60 Minutes interview and don't remember him saying anything like that. I'll watch it again now.
Because the video is readily available and you already know that. I said 60 minutes did the interview and Financial Times provided the transcription. I want YOU to do the work as it will be a learning experience you desperately need
