Wilson's connection to the family goes back at least one generation. She told CNN that she was the principal of a school that Johnson's father attended.

As much as I can respect Kelly's tremendous loss, this quote makes me cringe. Women are not "sacred" - we are human beings just like men and need to be respected as such, not put on a pedestal. Back when he was a kid women were looked upon with such great honor they weren't allowed into most professions, made a quarter of what men did, had fewer rights (not being able to get a loan by themselves, for example), and had to deal with as much sexual harassment as they do today. I hate that sort of nostalgic look back at a time when only white men with money were fully able to enjoy all the rights the constitution gives us.

We women have to potential to carry and birth a child.

Yeah well I'll take being a woman today over being one in the 1950s any day of the week. And I bet most women would too. "honor" means nothing if you are prevented from doing what you want to do in life because you're told it's your sacred duty to bear children. We've still got a long way to go (hello harvey weinstein) but at least the wanted ads no longer say "women need not apply" and it's no longer legal to pay a woman less than a man because he "has to support a family and you don'l." I have no patience with the fake "honoring women" mindset, having come from a conservative Christian background.

Turns out 'the best he could' is far below the minimum standard of a decent human being, much less the President.

I don't get this arguement - that somehow we should reduce the demands of the job because we elected someone incompetent. No. The job requirements are the job requirements - the President simply isn't capable of meeting them.

Is the language abusers use. "If you just didn't make me angry I wouldn't hit you." Trump is not the victim here. It is not our responsibility to refrain from criticism in order to keep him calm. Criticism comes with the job - it is HIS responsibility to remain calm in the face of it.

As for what I want: a President with a minimum level of normal human compassion and understanding. I expect that all of people, and certainly of my elected leaders or those asking for my respect.

Wrong, Trump is the one who started using Gold Star recipients for political purposes, first last summer and then this week. He has no respect for the institution. All the Congressman did was correct a falsehood told by the President, and for that, both the president and the Chief of Staff vilified her. Both have been proven, in fact, wrong.
