So weird. He told her to come to his bedroom at his house so he could massage her. She didn't want to, but instead of saying no and leaving she offered to give him a massage instead...and that was seemingly fine until he took off his pants.

Did he abuse his power? Yes. But that was apparently very easy since many women were seemingly okay with crossing uncomfortable lines in order to curry favor and hopefully land a role. That doesn't make what he did right, but it certainly makes you wonder why these women went along with this. Lupita's situation and many of the others are obviously different from the reported incidents of actual rape. Lupita's situation wasn't rape...she offered to give him a massage.

I understand the power differential, but she and many others had a choice. They picked career opportunities with Weinstein instead of protecting their morals.

The power is still with the same people. These women did not come forward until Bob Weinstein gave his blessing to the NYT. The NYT did not go forward with the story until Bob gave them permission. Too many powerful men in Hollywood and the Media looking out for each other. NBC wouldn't even report the sex abuse or the shady charity scheme of Harveys. NBC looks out for their own. People magazine is reporting that Harvey is treating therapy like it is a joke. They said he is on his phone trying to make business deals. These men that control Hollywood need to all go away. The media is no better.

workplace sexual harrassment is not a criminal act unless you are touched on the breast, buttocks or sexual areas in a manner that qualifies as some kind of sexual assault under state law.

Police can't prosecute your boss who is always calling you into his office and asking you if you're ready to have sex with him or go on a date or whatever. Nonetheless that does qualify as sexual harrassment.

I find the level of shock and piling on to condemn him disgusting, because you can't tell me that this sort of behavior went unnoticed. And I'd bet money that Harvey isn't the worst one. Everyone's so busy congratulating places like the Academy for ejecting him but fucking no one has a bad word for child rapists like Roman Polanski and Woody Allen.
