This is for the 2003-2004-2005-2006-2007-2010-2011 boys. Tryouts will be 4-6 pm on 5/13 & 5/14. Any questions contact Coach Kephern Fuller by email at Kephern@hotmail.com.

Anyone go to this last night? How was the turnout? Are they really going to be able to draw enough players to form all those teams?

We planned to, but had make-up league games Saturday. We have game conflicts today as well.

We went out the first one a few weeks ago and there was a good turn out.

Does anyone have advice for how to handle offers for teams from two good clubs when you are still waiting to find out which team you will be placed on at one club

Is there a right and wrong way?
It makes a difference because we would pick club A if they put him on a certain team with certain coach and friends, otherwise we would go with B

Both are equally convenient and no other factors that can push us one way or the other
This is for U9

Just be honest. I know that sounds like kind of a radical idea in the context of travel soccer, but give it a try and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Have an honest conversation with the coach at Club A. Make it clear you aren't trying to put any pressure on anyone or make any ultimatums - you are just being honest and letting him/her know where you stand. They will either give you the answer you are looking for - yes or no -- or tell you they aren't in a position to make that decision yet. In the latter case, it probably means that right now your kid is not in their plans to be on that team, but that could change if a couple/few players turn down their offers.

If Club B has given you a deadline which is before you will have the information you will need to make a decision about Club A, have an honest conversation with them as well. Ask them if it would be possible for you to have more time, and explain why, but be understanding if the answer is no. It's true that no one really wants to be told that they are second choice, but this will be far outweighed by their appreciation for your honesty. It really is such an exceedingly rare commodity in the travel soccer world that it is easy to stand out, just by being someone who tries to do the right thing.

It also sets a pretty good example for your kid.

I'm not against honesty, but really, is a club going to hold a spot for a kid (when there are countless others clamoring for it) so that this kid can see if he can go be with his friends? It's a tough choice for the family to make but I can't really see a club making this their problem, unless it's for a rare superstar player.

My son has only been playing travel for a year, but it seems that parents who demand their kid be placed on a certain team get their way, at least, if the kid is good enough to make the club to begin with, so you could just ask Club A and tell them why you are asking.

Any suggestions?

Where do you live?

McLean.

Premier AC

Thank you! If you have more suggestions, I will greatly appriciate them.

Get elite training, go to HP Elite, do coercer, of to SNF Academy, go to Karl Gibbons in Manassas, if he's aggressive than what he needs is bit more skill. If he's 10 and rec is not challenging him he's probably already strong and fast, doesn't take much to beat rec kids since any kid with parents willing to pay can be on a travel team.

Thank you. Manassas is too far for us. My son just wants to be like his friends and play in a team. He is not agreeasIve, that is his problem, but he is fast and in very good shape. And most importlanly, he loves soccer. Thanks, everyone, for your input.

Our boy couldn't get on a more aggressive team and loves Premier AC.

Love Premier AC as well!

Club B. Too many stipulations/variables for Club A.

We went to play for a specific coach...and he switched Clubs over the summer. It turned out great anyways. We like where we are much better--but there sometimes are a lot of coaching changes before Fall.

I'd prefer you shut the hell up because you know nothing. When you scream at other people's kids for "passing back" or dribbling out of the back when there is nobody near the kid for miles you show your fat ignorance of the game. Tearing down another little kid to build your own up is weak. At least the parents in the car aren't out there kissing ass like you. Mwah, mwah, "hey coach, what can I do for you coach? Should I bend over?"In fact, the parents are in their cars to avoid your tiresome shit.

+1 you nailed it.
That douchebag is the one yelling "send him" at our matches. Paces the sideline as his kid moves up and down the field. Coaches and parents hate him. Wonder what club he belongs to?!?!?

All of them.

Lol

+100!
