I can't figure out how to take this one. Explain please.
I think moms who have large babies ate well and put the baby first.
moms with small babies were more concerned with staying slim and avoiding stretch marks.
I feel with big babies. I did a better job developing baby.

Yup, now I know you're an idiot.
Some large babies are the result of GD or obese mothers.
I grow 7 lb babies. We're not big people (5'1" and 5'7"), we were both in the 7s at birth. Trust me when I tell you I WISH I could have eaten for a large part of my pregnancy, but I spent a good portion of it vomiting. It had nothing to do with wanting to stay thin or avoid stretch marks. I still got an enormous belly because my body just took over and I gained 30 lbs past pre-pg weight both times. My stomach is destroyed by diastasis and stretch marks-it wasn't like I had any say in any of that.
What an odd thing to be smug about. Like you had much control over any of this.
I think the OP of this tangent is being sarcastic. And you bit.

How would you feel if your money started to read "In Batman we Trust", or if every town you drove through had at least three Batman Churches, but only one Christian church every 200 miles? What if you were considered rude for saying that Batman's birthday shouldn't be a Federal Holiday? What if you didn't want your children to have to say "One Nation, Under Batman, Indivisible" in school? What if the story of Batman ended with him being blown up with a grenade and everyone wore little grenades around their necks? What if you had to swear into court on the first Batman comic?
What if you knew, for a fact, that people would elect anyone who believed anything about Batman, but would never elect you because you didn't belong to any of the Batman sects?
Yeah, like that. That is what makes some atheists rude. Because we are swimming in it and can barely breathe. But I would never be rude to you, and I would never play the victim like the Christians do.
I'm the PP/Christian you're responding to. I understand your POV and, honestly, that's something I hadn't thought much about. Thanks for not being rude. Please understand that not all Christians play the victim.

Also those who miscarry. There is something physically wrong with them on both counts and they shouldn't have children.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I think it's stupid to spend a ton of money to live in a top school district rather than spending the money on private school. If you lose your job, it's easier to pull the kids from private for a while than it is to make giant mortgage payments while you look for a new job. And privates are almost always better than even the good publics in that you can find a good fit for your kid, and have much more say over their education.
Agree 100%

Do you have stats to back this up?

Your "amazing" public schools aren't amazing because of superior teaching methods or great curriculum, they're "amazing" because the students that attend them come from privileged backgrounds and have well-educated parents. It's classism, really. People want their kids to go to school with people who are like them.
Of course, if it is a legitimate safety issue or extreme distribution problems, that will hinder learning. But quit acting like your child is getting soooo much better of an education because her school is a 10/10 on GS instead of a 6.
