Because this whole story is made up and many of us are impartial enough to see it. Violence against women is abhorrent. So is patently lying to get attention. This story is ludicrously fictitious.

Even UVA admins take the story seriously.
In fact, even Phi Kappa Psi takes the story seriously.

Of course they take it seriously. Doesn't make it true. Isn't it a little fishy that even now with all the publicity and potential to bring the perpetrators to justice, make a real difference, the "victim" still hasn't brought charges or even named her assailants?

It just baffles me that violence against women just goes on and on and on, and is legitimized in so many ways by the entertainment and advertising industries etc etc. And we just roll over and let it happen.
Is it because there is no united front of women (ie, we are too diverse?)
If the you took the vile emails against women from that fraternity and substituted a minority for the references to women, there would be more outrage.
I'm NOT trying to say that outrage would be misplaced. I'm asking for more outrage, not less.
I don't want to make it an either/or thing. (that you can support racial equality or gender equality.) I just don't understand why there isn't a great hue and cry over these things. Why it is just buried. Why there is so much anti-woman violence and sexism in general even in movies and games for children, and we do nothing.

Because the media is absorbed with the "rioting" around the country, in support of a thug in Missouri.
