Top of my list -- Tucson Cantina in Woodley Park on Connecticut Ave in NW DC. Loved the atmosphere. Great chile con queso. Cold beer. The friendliest crowd. Occasional open mike night. Could go back to Lord Telford's Pub to play darts late-night. Perfect juke box.

Cafe La Ruche in Georgetown. Always romantic and special. One dessert I'll never forget, involving bananas, pastry, and chocolate. Loved taking special dates there.

Flutes. Champagne bar in Georgetown. Only open for a few years, but was a special place while it lasted.

Au Pied de Cochon in Georgetown. Best bread and butter ever. And onion soup.

Thyme Square in Bethesda. Was a favorite for several years until we moved out of Bethesda (then noticed, sadly, it had closed).

Millie & Al's in Adams Morgan. The place in college years to go for pizza at 1am on a Saturday night. And more beer, of course.

Several others I can pictures but just can't remember names...

Whiteys in Arlington. Broasted chicken.
Burger Chef and Rax for fast food in Pittsburgh
