They did not use the word "Monday" but they said parents should prepare for an "extended closure" and referenced the possibility of snow over the weekend.

The threat of snow over the weekend has all but disappeared. Even the GFS, which was the one remaining model forecasting significant snowfall, is starting to cave to the Euro. If MCPS can't open by Monday, it's such a miserable failure of the entire school system.

It’s not just MCPS. It’s the county.

Libraries and rec centers are open. I get schools are a much heavier lift than those, but MCPS Central Office is not.

If you have time to post here during the work day, you have time to watch your school aged kids. Put on the tv or iPad.

Im at work, im essentail personnel, I also have downtime at work and access to the internet. Doesnt mean I can take the day off.
I do plan for childcare though, because when you are essential you have to. Spouse and I both worked on Sunday in the snow.

So, you are being paid to work and not working....

You can get affordable tutoring online. We added extra sessions this week. Or, you can supplement at home, which is what we did in the early years.
