Democrats going to Democrat. It's now "dangerous" to discipline the budding criminal.

I was open to Janeese, have many friends who are publicly backing her, but everything she has said and done this week has made me really, really nervous.
She always sees crime from the point of view of the criminals, and never from the perspective of the victims of violent crime, and of law abiding people who want to feel safe. Maybe this is because of her experience as a prosecutor? But it's no good. Pouring money into rec centers and giving criminals jobs is fine. But a mayor needs to be very, very clear that people who commit violent crimes will be punished. I've never heard her talk about punishment.

A kernel of truth surrounded by lies and spin. Par for the course for you.
He mentored her when she was new to the council. That's it. Not even a nice attempt.
It's really weird to praise someone who has been indicted and is seen on camera accepting bribes as being a mentor and someone who shows up for the city!
Why do JLG supporters feel so cult-like? McDuffie proponents are pretty clear-eyed about his flaws but it seems like JLG voters make their support of her their entire personality and defend her to the death no matter how valid the criticism. It's bizarre.
For me personally? I'm responding to rabid attacks on her from bad faith anonymous trolls. I've had plenty of real discussions with actual people in good faith.

He does feel like that same Bowser brand. Say the right things then half ass implementation.
He is copying a lot of Janeese talking points which must be weird for his supporters here.
He is not copying her points. Name three times he did that.
Oh I remember one. He broke out "budget is a moral document", which is something I heard from Janeese pretty consistently beforehand. It's historically been a progressive line, not a moderate one.

Mcduffie has the RAMW endorsement now. He is clearly being picked as the pro business candidate. It saddens me every time I see a restaurant shut down here so it does add to my consideration.
I'm guessing they want more $50K handouts. Vote McDuffie so we can give away taxpayer money to private for profit companies? What are you all doing? I don't think it's the left that's the extremists here.
What restaurants want is a Mayor who actually cares about what affects their businesses---crime, wage rates that put them out of business, city planning that doesn't destroy their livelihoods. Am looking specifically at GGW/JLG idea to make 18th St in Adams Morgan a pedestrian mall, aka a loitering magnet for the drug-addicted, mentally ill, and their dealers. Restaurants don't need handouts if they have a government who can actually grasp economic realities.
