Doesn’t matter if this man was MAGA, a Democrat or a republican the only question is, are we following the laws? Due process is central to democracy, otherwise we are an authoritarian country.

So assuming he gets further due process (he has already had some), and a deportation order is issued, will you agree that he can be deported to El Salvador?

Yes, that would be fine with me. Let’s follow the law and if the law says he must leave then we must uphold the law.

Now that the President of El Salvador says he’s not sending him back, what’s the plan?

Glad to know you have a direct line with Bukele. We trust the almighty Trump will figure it out now that Court of Appeals is also ruling him.

You realize Bukele posted that right? Now he is on record saying he will not send his citizen to the USA nor release him from jail. So again, what’s your solution? Tell me what the USA can do now.

We can prosecute those Americans who decided to defy a court ruling and kidnap a man without due process thereby protecting the rule of law for all of us.

Such suffering.

Margaritas with an alleged wife beater who was arrested wearing gang symbols chilling with MS 13 members and deported for being illegal. What a hill to die on Maryland. Maryland is for . . the wealthy, wife beaters, and gangs. Glad I left.

It’s pretty incredible how the lefts voted into power pour in so much money and effort for noncitizens, right down to defending an undocumented individual who is likely a gang member. Imagine if they put that same energy into helping actual Americans. The irony is, they will not even lift a finger for fired left leaning government workers or vote against Trump’s budget bill. It’s "undocumented first," every time.

The very people who voted for these Democrats should feel completely betrayed. And let’s not forget another top priority for them: making sure biological men can compete in women’s sports. It is all part of the same strategy: expand their future voter base through colleges, visas, and immigration pathways. They do not even have to worry about keeping their current Democrat base happy because they know they will keep pushing that vote button no matter what.

Van Hollen violates the Logan Act.

Bukele could wrangle a bigger win out of this for himself. He's made El Salvador's legal and prison system a foundation of the economy. Just imagine if he manages to show that El Salvador follows its own laws while we have parts of our administration twisting itself into pretzels

My guess is that Bukele was following instructions from trump to allow Van Hollen access to Garcia to prove that he is still alive.

Anonymous wrote:Thank God for Van Hollen. All of our due process rights depend on Americans paying attention to this case and demanding those rights for this man, who is a human being and is entitled to certain rights under our laws. Sorry if you want to dehumanize him so Trump can deport anyone he doesn't like.

He may get further due process, but may still ultimately never return to the U.S. It's quite possible that there will be a rehearing on his deportation hold to El Salvador because it is a far different country than it was in 2019 (from a gang perspective). Would everyone here agree that if that hold is lifted, he can be deported to El Salvador?
