But I so wish for it all to work out just as we know it will. Let them lose their healthcare and social security and welfare. Let them all get deported, every single one of them. Let our stocks go up while they wallow in their paycheck to paycheck. Let their families go hungry and sick. Let Musk cut the government in half, all of it. Let their women bleed out in hospitals.
We will be fine but I cannot wait, cannot I tell you, for them to reap what they sow.
I feel somewhat the same. I’m sick over this but ultimately it’s not going to affect my life. It’ll mostly hurt the people who voted for him.
+1. Its just mental health preservation. I just can't care any more about people who don't want my help. Trump can help them. I'm sure it will work out great! I give up.
I feel the same way. My only check on this negativity is that there are a lot of people who voted for Harris who are also going to get hurt.
The Harris voters are actually the neediest. As you saw in the floods, many poor white people take care of each other. But Kamala's many black supporters have no one to turn to. Black women are the heaviest users of abortions and they are the ones who will not have access to them and are more likely to have pregnancy complications. You are consigning a large group of people to bad outcomes.

Not sure, but I’m looking forward to all the whining from those who voted for him. That’s going to be fun.
They will never admit they were wrong. Ever.

And no D Congress to blame. No pandemic to blame. Let's see how it goes!
It doesn't matter how ridiculous a blame game Trump plays his supporters lap it up. He flat out said that people in Ohio were eating dogs and we needed to get rid of them and that was accepted.
The only comfort in that is that he has no grasp or competence to actually get anything done and we just have to tolerate hearing all of the silly things that he's going to blame it on.
But there will be some ugly episodes along the way. There was no doubt about that. There will have to at least be some video footage of some type of deportation activity and that is likely going to be very ugly.

Very typical thinking for progressives. You want the "other" to suffer while your stocks go up. Everyone senses your hatred. And you are not winning elections with your spite.
Trump and the Reps literally just won an election with their spite! Trump = spite.
Spite clearly works. So does playing dirty. And so I am done with my kindness, open-mindedness and compassion.

Out of spite, I think Ds should hang back for a few elections at the federal level. Let the Rs turn the US into the hellhole they desire. Then we can revisit the value of government regulation and government services. Maybe they need to feel the pain first.
Moron we are already feeling the pain which is why Democrats lost so badly. Why do over 70% of Americans feel like the country is moving in the wrong direction if the Democrats were doing such a fantastic job? They have held office for the past 12 out of 16 years. A majority of people believe they are worse off today than they were in 2020. Why are so many people moving to red states? The definition of insanity is continuing to do the same thing over and over again expecting different results.
Because of the pandemic, world-wide supply chain, etc.
People would be in an even worse place if Trump had won in 2020. Ds gave us a soft landing. Just look at how the US is recovering compared to other countries.
Well people who understand economics and can read and process real news understand that. But majority of the 51% don't understand that and don't want to.
That is really condescending. The entire globe suffered from inflation. It was not as bad in the United States as it was in other places. That is not impossible or even that difficult to grasp.
Except apparently it is.
But who cares how stupid they are. What matters is reaching them with an effective message. Meet them where they are. We apparently didn't do that this time, and now we have what we have.
Who cares. Inflation is 100% Trump's problem to fix now, and he promised he would fix it.
Biden already fixed it, though. He did an incredible job stewarding this economy through impossible times - and now we have low inflation (though still higher prices) and low unemployment. Trump is inheriting yet another great economy that he's going to do some things to. But people voted for him, and maybe the economy is strong enough to endure what he tries to do. I'm certainly not rooting for a recession or painful inflation again.

So what should we do? Storming the Capitol? Telling the rally goers s to shoot our opponents? Shoot the press? Punch an old lady?
Rethink your policies.
Pity, I thought the storming part could be fun, like partying?
What policy? You mean get a white dictator as candidate?
Immigration for one

And the reason it's "not as bad in the US as it was in other places" is largely because of the Biden administration. Yet those 51% are told "nope it's bad, it's all Biden/Harris fault" and they believe it. My point exactly. Not sure why explaining facts is condescending. Some choose to learn and understand, others choose to believe blatant lies. So they got what they wanted by believing those lies
Many of that 51% are smart enough to know the inflation in the US could have been much worse, but they chose racism, sexism, homophobia and tax cuts.
