Tom Sawyer: He was Tom. Tom Sawyer. He was a boy. A boy named Tom who did all the things young boys do. The book’s author, who wrote Tom Sawyer, told a wonderful tale about the boy and his adventures. He laughed and he loved and he loved to laugh. And we can all learn a lot about what this boy Tom Sawyer experienced in this book.

+1 Correct. Still cannot believe these are our choices. For me this comes down to the economy/business acumen, the border, and past performance on the world stage. Harris/Walz seem like deer in headlights.
Really?
Inflation is back down and Kroger and Walmat have admitted to their price gouging. Prices are still he, she has outlined her plans to address it. How are tariffs and exporting migrant workers going to keep prices down?
Trump killed the border bill that would deal with the pressing issues. Harris has said she would sign it. Has Trump? Meanwhile, border crossings are down to 2019 levels.
Performance on world stage: no one laughs at Biden/Harris the way they literally were at Trump. NATO has expanded and the US is no longer kowtowing to Putin and Xi. I am not sure why or how joining the ranks of authoritarian countries is good for our economy or democracy writ large.
Border crossings are down because this administration is flying 30k people per month directly into the country. Our services are not meant to handle this amount of people. That bill was not going to fix this. We need to deport the several million that came across recently.

But now because we are unfortunately stuck with Harris, we democrats have to gaslight ourselves and others into thinking that these populist word salads are acceptable. A shame.
And Romney too. It wasn't that long ago that there was an expectation that presidential candidates would generally be informed, competent, and decent human beings.
Now we have Donald Trump, an abomination. And due to the colossal arrogance of Joe Biden and his family - Jill and Hunter - we are in the strange situation where mediocrity gets to fall upwards. Democrats have a lot of talent, but none of them can run for president because of what the Bidens did. Instead, we have two months of fingers-crossed Harris can maintain some basic coherence when speaking without a teleprompter. And in the meantime we all need to pretend she's some awesome, historic candidate that will lead America out of the wilderness.
It's a farce. Even children recognize there are moments in a game when you need a do-over.

Kamala was coherent and concise. She didn’t babble about sharks or Hannibal Lechter for a hour plus like Trump. Most Americans don’t want to hear a detailed in the weeds analysis of policy over the evening news-probably more so in the swing states which are the only ones that really matter.

Inorder to bring inflation down you would need deflation. We haven't had deflation recently.
