The Army DID release a highly unusual statement in defense of the cemetery employee and rebuking Trump for partisan politics in the cemetery.

Probably because they don’t want the Arlington employee harassed, swatted or killed, and probably because everyone works so hard to keep the maga beast appeased. “Lawfare!” they shout, stupid and unaware that yes, Republicans should follow laws too.

No, they don't want attention on it anymore because it's a bad look for the Biden-Harris Administration. Trump looked Presidential (having been invited), while Biden was at the beach and Harris was campaigning. The Army doesn't want attention on it anymore because it would pit the Army against Gold Star Families when there is a massive shortfall in recruiting (i.e. why was Trump there? To lay a wreath at the graves of 13 service men and women who died because of a poorly-executed withdrawal from Afghanistan - not a great recruitment message).

Again, the Biden-Harris administration could clean up a lot of their failures by showing some measure of humility. Instead, they're hoping the media will "memory hole" those failures in favor of yet another Trump scandal. This strategy is becoming less and less effective, but they're hoping to hold on until Election Day.

Agree 100%. I want it brought up constantly, until the Trump team has absolutely no choice but to release their video of the event to settle the matter.


When they initially threatened to, the Army couldn’t wait to make it go away.

Now it’s time to keep talking about it until they are forced to release it. Then we can all see what this staffer’s actions were that the Army and the Administration wants so badly to not be seen.

If they had the footage exonerating themselves, they would have released it in a flash.

They haven’t released it because doing so would likely result in Reps in Congress demanding this staffer be fired immediately.

The Trump team doesn’t want to create a sympathetic media figure in someone that lost their career because they couldn’t control themselves.

But I hope the left keeps bringing it up, and they’re forced to release it. Because I want this person fired, and the outcry for that isn’t going to happen until we all see the video.

The AP style book suggests quotes are appropriate because the complainant is not officially recognized as a victim because charges have not been filed.

Were this person willing to press charges, they would then be a victim. Until then, they remain a “victim”.
