I'm wondering if the intruder disconnected the alarm system? Otherwise, ours would be incredibly loud once a door was opened or a glass was broken.
Nothing makes much sense. That's why I'd like to see the video released. Unless they have no cameras running?
The man thought he was Jesus, according to his ex.
You are not entitled to see video of the assault. Believe whatever you want to believe. You will anyway.
I don't believe one way or the other. What I'm seeing is a story where the details keep shifting. The audio recording conflicts with the statement. Then they retracted their statement that someone opened the door that clearly wasn't the Pelosi or his attacker, because both had their hands on the same hammer. Pelosi was able to take a bathroom break and use his phone in the bathroom. He could have simply told the police there was an intruder in the house, but he said it was a friend, David. He must have sounded confused because they did a wellness check. At his age, he very well could have been confused, and that's just fine. The important thing is the police got to the scene on time. People are asking to see footage because of all the changes to the details of what happened.
Either way, his neighbors and his Ex-Wife have made it perfectly clear that the man was decidedly mentally unwell. People here want to state that he is mentally well but being MAGA makes him mentally unwell. That''s, well, insaneHe's mentally unwell because he thinks he's Jesus and talks to angels, etc. The media seems to want to ignore that fact. Inconvenient? I don't know.
Again, what entitles you have access to the video? The police have it. The guys lawyer will have it. The prosecutor will have it. This isn’t a TV show scripted for your entertainment. It looks like the guy broke in, went looking for Nancy. Paul P woke up. The guy didn’t attack right away. He asked where’s Nancy? PP talked to him, was able to call police, tried to keep him calm until the cops got there. The cops coming in may have triggered the guy to go for the hammer and he hit Paul with it. We don’t need to know every detail. We know there was a break-in and an assault and who was the intruder/assailant and who was the victim.
What makes the public entitled to this is the attempt to portray Depepe as some sort of Dark MAGA assassin right before an election. This is a blatant attempt to influence an election. Had everyone just calmed their jets, you can let the process work out. But you can't slander half the country like this and say its a private matter. This is misinformation 101.

See folks, the real victims are MAGAs, not Paul Pelosi who is obviously conspiring to make them look bad.

Yes, Elon will destroy Twitter. Quickly and in a spectacular fashion.
Whatever Jeff earns moderating this site, it is not enough.
And seriously— avoid the Twitter comments. You've been warned.
Yes, I noticed that the person upthread who challenged the fact that Fox News had shut down comments on the Pelosi article hasn’t come back. “Oh none of their articles have comments enabled!” Yeah, they all do except this one, because apparently what was there was so vile that they put a stop to it.
DP. There are plenty of articles on Fox News about this attack and they all have comments enabled. What are you even talking about?
This one. Which does not have comments enabled.

and so what is the R's answer to dealing with mental illness? Gut ACA, right? They closed down the federally funded mental health facilities, so what else are they going to do to "help" the mentally ill?
I am talking about people currently in power, incl in SF. They need to take the mentally ill off the streets instead of blaming maga. I am not defending maga ideas. I am saying mentally ill people like this guy need to be committed
