Straight A's in all your AP/ IB classes, sports, community service and test scores are your ticket-- start now because when you are a junior it is too too late. Oh, obviously your child has never played lacrosse or has never made a team or you would 'get it'.
I played two sports at an Ivy (including lacrosse) and even I think you sound like a total idiot. This post is nearly unintelligible. The only thing that comes through clearly is defensiveness about being obsessed with lacrosse.

To the poster who suggested I should sack up. One of my concerns about the team is that my son ends up in a household like yours because of a team friendship. Thanks but I'll keep my distance and maybe you can work on your dignity. If you don't see the ugliness of your words then I can only imagine the values with which you raise your children.

Lacrosse is a sport that is only of interest at a few schools in the area. Most parents of Big 3 Schools could care less about lacrosse.

Club Blue U 15AA is still playing AA. They won their last game-- no team is perfect or has perfect coaches. Travel lax teams are about finding the best fit for your child and the position they play. Club blue kids don't all go to Prep. the coaches are outstanding and you take the good with the bad. It is a small lax world and bad mouthing wont get you anywhere down the road. There are many dads around the Rea who have coached, been refs or played themselves. That is why you see the competitive nature on the sidelines. Also, many kids play on multiple travel teams plus their school or area rec league. It is all about where you want to go just like any other sport --

she is finding a way to cope. She is not socializing on the sidelines with these parents. This is exactly how I am coping as well. What is going to be accomplished from talking to the Dad who curses at his son when he misses a catch or a ground ball. This isn't someone who I have any interest in socializing with. Any parent that does this is not someone I would want to be around.

The comments on this thread, particularly those of the Club Blue defenders, are exactly why I don't socialize with the parents on the sidelines of my kid's games. He is on an extremely competitive travel team and I'm embarrassed every weekend by the things people shout and ashamed of things they say to each other that they think nobody hears. There is one Mom in particular who thinks every call against our team is the result of a ref's stupidity and that any call against her son - who relies on his size instead of his skill or speed - is a clear and present danger to the future of the game itself.

This is a 3-year old thread with over 450 posts. Clearly there is an interest within the DCUM community regarding lacrosse. Seems as appropriate a website as anywhere else to chat about the sport.

No, that is not what I said. There are many strong clubs affiliated with the NPYLL. My son is in HS and plays for one of the strongest lacrosse clubs, and has played in the NPYLL. His team won the NPYLL AA championship one year.
The problem with the NPYLL is that 50% of the games are blowouts and a waste of everyone's time. If the NPYLL continues to expand, they need three divisions because the delta between the worst and best teams in any particular division is much too great. Kids are not learning anything in most of these games.
Maybe you should stick to talking about the carpool line. Clearly you know nothing about lacrosse.
