The counties will end up needing to recreate another special district and Disney will have the leverage to negotiate an even better deal.
An enormous percentage of americans families have members that are gay or have suffered a sexual assault, or have terminated a pregnancy, or are minorities, or are immigrants, or are imprisoned, etc, ect. How are these culture wars to be won when most of the population are families that include people bring attacked by the war?
Wrong thread?
Didn't seem to be. This whole thing was triggered by Republicans being so infuriated that Disney is somewhat supportive of gay people.
That’s an extraordinarily unintelligent take on what’s transpired. Activists are twisting themselves into pretzels to brand the bill as “don’t say gay” but the majority of Floridians agree that gender and sexuality is not an appropriate topic for kindergarteners.

I think given this 2+ year trend, it is safe to say, as the CEO did, that the parks are no longer a priority. Its entirely possible the CEO made a calculated gamble with this, that getting on board the hollywood battle cries against dont say gay would be better for business (streaming) than appealing to its more conservative park goers.
Interesting perspective.
Sure wonder what was happening the past two year?

1) Try to get a new a CEO who can smooth things over with the State government
2) If that doesnt work they should pay off their autonomous zone's debts to the bond holders (otherwise I suspect bond holders will be left holding the bag).
3) Petition to be entirely in one county. Kind of crazy for them to have deal with emergency services of 2 counties.
Bond holders will not be left holding the bag. They are secured. Orange County and it’s residents will be responsible for that debt. On the day the district ceases to exist in 2023. That is why there will be a deal here that will be fine for Disney.

There's nothing to "smoothe over". The idea that a company is only allowed to support republicans is ridiculous and would send a terrible message to people.
