What’s stupid comment.
We elect officials TO control the public. What the hell else the point of having a government, dummy? We vote for people who will be in authority, to protect us from dumbasses who go around blathering about “muh freedumbs”. Control? Control is the REASON we put people in charge.

The Montgomery County Council, acting as the Board of Health, voted Tuesday to amend the indoor mask mandate regulation. Now, the county must see seven straight days of "substantial transmission" versus one day. https://bethesdamagazine.com/bethesda-beat/government/indoor-mask-mandate-to-kick-in-after-7-days-of-substantial-transmission/
Pathetic but not surprising.
What’s even more pathetic is that they decided to ignore the first day of substantial transmission so the seven-day clock didn’t start until Saturday. I don’t know why they’re so desperate to get rid of the mask mandate now. They did much dumber and more costly things earlier in the pandemic but held onto those for a much longer time.
Great news! And cool that they showed they can learn from previous mistakes and not double down.
(I wasn’t going back to wearing a mask regardless, but at least now there’s no chance of a confrontation)
Selfish. We are having good numbers because of masking.

Actually not. It's kind of amazing, but unless they didn't calculate correctly, it stayed flat at exactly 51.2. Same value on 11/1 and 11/2
OK, is that what happened? Because I thought it was strange but I couldn’t remember yesterday‘s number.
It's kind of tricky, and you may need to enlarge your screen, but you can hover over the vertical bars at the bottom of the graphic, and hover over text will display the rate for that specific day.
And both 11/1 and 11/2 show the same rate. Which is definitely possible, but given the problems they (and MCPS) have had with data, its also possible they have an error on the back end
Correction, however over the actual chart, not the bars underneath.
But if you look at positivity rate, its been at exactly 1.5% on 10/31, 11/1, and now 11/2. Which again, is possible, but seems unlikely. So I suspect they have a data or back end calculation issue
Just for fun I’m going to put my tin hat on and say they don’t want to update the website until after the mask mandate addendum gets voted on.

The police will NOT enforce the mask mandate. They know that it is of dubious legality and want no part of the anger that might ensue. They might show up to ask people to leave a business who wants to cite trespassing, but no one is getting arrested if they leave when asked.
"dubious legality"![]()
Any update on the vaccination rates among MCPD officers?
