Let's see: US and Israeli warplanes range freely over Iran, having hit thousands of targets, and are hitting more every day. The Iranian leadership has been taken out. Its new leader cannot or will not show his face. Its air defenses have been ineffective, destroyed or both. Its navy is largely gone. So It has now effectively blocked ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway vital to its own economy. US media would have you believe Iran has turned the tide in the war because blocking the strait never occurred to US war planners. You can choose to believe this. I don't.

None of that contradicts or even questions that Trump didn't plan for the Iranians closing the Hormuz strait or continue fighting without surrendering.

You give our military such little credit. The Strait of Hormuz is ALWAYS part of the discussion when it comes to Iran.
You know that Trump was even talking about it back in 2012...

You're falling for the media trap of finding angles and a fresh story. The reality is that Iran can still wreak havoc for weeks because it has no soft cards to play, only hard ones, that are self-destructive. But it plays them because there's no other solution. They will continue to defy the US and Israel until they have nothing left.

Since Iran entered the fold in 1979, Israel has not been able to successfully defeat Hamas or Hezbollah. Lebanon has ran them out multiple times since the 1980s and Israel lost the 2006 war. The Israelis know they’re getting their expertise in rocket making and military strategy from the Iranians not the dumb oil sheiks in Dubai and Qatar
