"If you do what I did, this kind of thing, you will not regret it at all. You will be provided for the rest of your life with absolutely everything," Kuzminov stated. "You will be offered work everywhere, whatever you want to do. You will just discover for yourself the world of colors."
"What is happening now is simply the genocide of the Ukrainian people. Both Ukrainian and Russian. The basis of my action is not to contribute to these crimes. Ukraine will definitely win this war simply because the people have rallied very much... No one wants this war. When Ukraine wins is only a matter of time."

Until the budget runs out, that is.

The MI-8 pilot who defected to Ukraine will be paid half a million dollars, as advertised. (LOL you thought it was about "not wanting to kill Ukrainians" or some other romantic thing?)

Speaking of not contributing to crimes...the young Maksim did not see fit to tell his crew members he plans to defect to Ukraine and land in a Ukrainian airfield. Seems the crew members were not pleased with this development at all, and had no intention of defecting.

They were shot after landing.

Terrific camaraderie there. Really brings to life an old adage about defectors - "if you bought him for a million, he'll sell you for two."

I guess those RUS drones never fell in Romanian territory, eh? That one got deleted

I guess you know better than Romania what falls on their land since they denied it.

But you have to wonder why Ukraine is so keen to make the case that Russia is attacking NATO member countries.

Like that time Ukraine claimed a Russian missile hit Poland, killing two people. And it turned out to be their own metal.

You could have a thread dedicated entirely to Ukrainian false-flags.

You don't hear Poland complaining about its 2 citizens who were killed by Ukrainian air defense debris while intercepting a Russian missile. It just grows their resolve against Russia, who started it. Romania understands this too.

Russia is the culprit. Everyone with half a brain is aware that border accidents will happen, and that Russia is ultimately responsible.

Better remember this when radioactive clouds travel across Europe. Putin will be tempted to use tactical nukes when Ukrainian troops reach the sea and take Crimea.

Border accidents are one thing. Claiming your adversary has deliberately targeted a NATO country is another matter.

I think we could get 1-2m in a week to send over.

Meanwhile Russia is trying to con Cubans and anyone near Russia to sign a contract to avoid mobilizing more Russians.

"Upon return" being the operative word.

Who wouldn't want to sign up to be mine-clearer first wave, er... first class...

But in reality, what else would you do with volunteers that can't speak Ukrainian/Russian or even English?

America wastes so much money on dumb things sending billions to blow up Russians is actually a good investment.

Plus it is just kind of fun.

Also, sending old tanks and surplus military equipment to get blown up in Ukraine is actually cheaper than decommissioning them in many cases. So the argument could be made that we are actually saving some money for once. But mostly destroying Russian military is the why we have no concerns on spending billions.
Maybe when NFL and NBA seasons start we will lose some interest - but for now Russian losses are good entertainment value.

Get ready because those losses are going to continue accelerating. The mine fields behind the main defense line are noticeably less dense (with documented lanes of travel) because the Russians needed space to operate. Combined with Ukraine's artillery advantage and cluster munitions, they're going to keep pushing hard south.

And why would Ukraine want to negotiate now, when it has momentum on a clear path to victory? Just look:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-09-05/eu-set-to-double-output-of-artillery-shells-after-slow-start

While Russia is forced to go begging to North Korea for old surplus artillery shells and fuses (which frequently fail), Ukraine is set to revive increasing supplies of fresh, western artillery shells from Europe.

Along with Ukraine’s other allies, we can keep this up indefinitely. But Russia is facing a failing economy, a demographic time-bomb, and increasing external pressure through sanctions.

It remains to be seen whether the Wagner PMC Operation in Africa will continue to turn a profit in the wake of Putin assassinating Piggy.

Reznikov can probably use a break. I've heard he may be getting moved to another prominent role. Meanwhile his replacement is a Crimean Tatar. Who has more skin in the game than a Crimean Tatar?

Plus he might be less, I dunno, casualty averse..

We literally have hundreds of them sitting around waiting to be decommissioned.

Who cares if the get loaded off a train, drive 500 meters, fire a few times and break down in a Ukrainian field?

At least they did something instead of sitting around rusting.
Or just drive them through a minefield without a crew - better to use them for something.

It's the transport that's expensive and tricky. They cannot send 100 tanks all at once. Believe me, if the US could magically drop off all their obsolete military equipment in Ukraine, they would!!! Less to decommission.

Ukrainians care but I guess that doesn't matter?
