I want to know why Biden the wuss is only sending 31 abrams tanks.
We literally have hundreds of them sitting around waiting to be decommissioned.

Who cares if the get loaded off a train, drive 500 meters, fire a few times and break down in a Ukrainian field?

At least they did something instead of sitting around rusting.
Or just drive them through a minefield without a crew - better to use them for something.

America wastes so much money on dumb things sending billions to blow up Russians is actually a good investment.

Plus it is just kind of fun.

Also, sending old tanks and surplus military equipment to get blown up in Ukraine is actually cheaper than decommissioning them in many cases. So the argument could be made that we are actually saving some money for once. But mostly destroying Russian military is the why we have no concerns on spending billions.
Maybe when NFL and NBA seasons start we will lose some interest - but for now Russian losses are good entertainment value.

Get ready because those losses are going to continue accelerating. The mine fields behind the main defense line are noticeably less dense (with documented lanes of travel) because the Russians needed space to operate. Combined with Ukraine's artillery advantage and cluster munitions, they're going to keep pushing hard south.

Looks like we have the first documented Challenger 2 loss. From Ukrianian video even: https://www.rt.com/russia/582389-challenger-tank-destroyed-video/

Perhaps as interesting as the loss is its location, in Rabotino, which Ukraine was claiming to control.

I can only imagine the fate of the poor conscript that shot this video and let it into the wild.

It seems that anything that's 'forbidden knowledge' gets deleted off of DCUMS? Just keep track so you can use it as counter-propaganda on other websites. It helps to know what strikes a nerve.

The more the Ukrainians focus on taking out anti-aircraft weaponry, the more that things like this will occur. This shows a lack of faith there are sufficient means to deter Ukrainian drones. This also helps as an indicator when the bombers will be used, since the tires must be removed off of the wings before takeoff.

"What you are looking at is a satellite image featuring a TU-95 strategic bomber covered with car tires. According to them, this should protect strategic bombers from drones"
https://www.yahoo.com/news/russian-forces-using-car-tires-160125092.html

Putin's circle continues to shrink.

"Armenian PM: Russia isn’t defending us because we aren’t pro-Moscow enough"
https://www.yahoo.com/news/armenian-pm-russia-isn-t-185528966.html

Putin's circle has shrunk to the point where Russia is turning to North Korea for military supplies, which they do have ample stores of.

"Kim Jong Un plans to meet Vladimir Putin in Russia, U.S. official says"
https://www.yahoo.com/news/kim-jong-un-plans-meet-202910238.html

Think about this. Russia is unable to produce enough artillery ammunition, so is turning to North Korea. To save face, Putin is making Kim Jong Un take the "party train" to Moscow, where I'm guessing he'll be put into all sorts of compromising positions along the way? (It's a Russian thing..) However, if Kim Jong Un does make a deal with Moscow, he may be subject to internal criticism that he's softening North Korea's defense posture, unless he can return with Russian technology (which would not make the South Korean's very happy). That means that South Korea has just as much a vested interest ensuring that this deal goes bad, since a modernized North Korea would be far more dangerous than it currently is.

Although North Korean artillery is antiquated, it is still effective in quantity. Normally I'm critical of Rand reports, but this particular report does a good job of explaining why it's a potential concern and is well written.

https://www.rand.org/content/dam/rand/pubs/research_reports/RRA600/RRA619-1/RAND_RRA619-1.pdf

Presumably the North Korean artillery would travel along the same route as Kim Jong Un is taking so could be vulnerable to rail disruption since it would be the only means to transport a large amount of equipment without using ships.

Hey, Wordy Ukrainian Poster. French poster here.

What do you make of the reports that the second line of defense has been breached south of Robotyne and advance troops are targeting the third and last line, hopefully before fresh elite Russian troops arrive?

Reznikov can probably use a break. I've heard he may be getting moved to another prominent role. Meanwhile his replacement is a Crimean Tatar. Who has more skin in the game than a Crimean Tatar?

Lol that’s exactly what you do in the middle of war when you are happy with how it’s going - send your top man on vacation. Cause he’s tiiiired.

As opposed to the Russians who have disappeared their generals through assassination, arrest, and firing en masse. Nobody loses quite like the Russians…

Paging General Surovikin..... *crickets*

He was photographed in his country house yesterday.

Pro-Ukrainian poster, I echo the PP above and ask you to please limit the written diarrhea.

Often your massive blocks of texts really don't pertain to the direction of the discussion, and they're so long people don't fully read them anyway.

It makes you nearly as irritating, sometimes, as the pro-Russian troll, who just posts laughable nonsense.

Everything you say does make me question who you are. If you were Ukrainian, I would think you'd be interested in multiple reference links about how the War is going back home? Strange.

In short, longer posts with multiple topic areas help to defeat AI programs. AI programs work best on short paragraphs with low information content value. This permits the AI to counter in a 1:1 fashion. When multiple themes are presented to the AI, it becomes confused following the thread and tends to make mistakes. Once the AI becomes tripped up like this, it needs to be reset, since it's machine learning weights have been tainted with disjointed facts that aren't conducive to propaganda.

Longer posts will also irritate people with different points of view and opinions, since I've noticed that there are a lot of opinions and comments without research to back it up. The irritation is somewhat intentional. A Russian propagandist blogging doesn't have the luxury to reason out non-approved themes unless they're senior level - and even that's a risk. This limits their ability to maneuver on topics, or they risk upsetting their superiors.

But if you're Ukrainian, you already know this (or should). After all, you received a daily dose of it?

The thing is that your posts aren’t reasoning it out. They are more of a data dump with little reason or logic. I think you’re altogether exaggerating their literary or research value. They are boring and clearly designed to further a point of view rather than a diversity of sources.

to paraphrase your complaint: "Stop with all of your pesky facts! You make it hard for the russian operators and their attempt at snarky one-liners!"

Sorry but I disagree with you and welcome the long posts. The more facts and details, the better. A big part of the problem with politics is that too much of it is superficial and emotion-based, lacking in detail.

No one has ALL the facts and neither does that poster. You cannot seriously argue that the long winded poster is all about facts and never passion. She’s like the definition of arguing with emotion and calling anyone who disagrees troll.

Stop your whining. You aren't the boss of this forum. If other people want to make long posts THEY CAN whether you like it or not. Suck it up.

They are free to do it and I’m free to mock them.

You are, but you’re playing to an audience of one (if it’s possible to be your own audience).

Lol no I’m not.

Besides, if we were track the percentage of readers who do read the data dumps to the very last word, what do you think it would be? 5%? If those eyeballs could talk…
