It will be interesting to watch this list of clubs over the next couple of years. Boys ECNL is not bringing in big $$$. Eventually some of the top girls ECNL clubs will switch to GA + MLSN so they can make money on both the girls and boys sides.
So is ARL or FVU not considered top clubs of the nation and VDA and NVA(Previous) are? Or is this a reflection of local clubs that have better ability to help more kids a shot at a D1 school?

as the people who run the site say, it is a list of PUBLIC COMMITMENTS on instagram, Facebook, or twitter and any commitments not on those sites but someone text them. pretty easy to understand. and well if they are not D1 then they wont be on the list. go take your medicine and calm down. facts just smacking you all around

Approximately 12-15% of women's Division I soccer players enter the transfer portal each year. This translates to roughly 700-800 players annually out of the total 12,096 D1 women's soccer players.

I couldn't find the percentage of 1st year D1 players that hit the portal. But I'd expect it to be higher than older players. So probably close to 20%-25%.

VDA is one of the best clubs in the nation. FVU, NVA, ARL are not. I’m happy to clear that up.

The way verbal commitments work is players can announce or choose not to announce. If you announce them theres a possibility players can leverage verbal offers into a better offer from a different school or maybe a better offer from the same school. Theres also a chance that you'll piss off the coach trying to leverage for more and they'll move on to the next player on their list.
Generally when a verbal offer is made the coach will request a response with 2 days and 2 weeks. Only coaches (not assistants or recruiters) can provide verbal offers.
There are situations where a coach will back out of a verbal offer but this is rare. Usually they just carry more players if there's some kind of mistake. This might change now that theres roster limits.

If it's "simply the results from the top clubs in the nation" that means 53 ECNL clubs and 7 GA clubs are "the top clubs in the nation" on the girls' side? That's nearly half of ECNL, and 5% of GA.
But I agree that it is the boys' side that is driving the shift, not some independent preference for GA on the girls side.

Congratulations. My kid plays at a top Socal GA club and the older players seem to have similar experiences.
My DD had her first school reach out last week, University of Alabama. We couldn't believe it. Outside of football I dont know anything about this school. She's very excited that they reached out. The club also has recruiter types stopping by during sessions all the time to look at players.
Not really sure where any of this will lead to but GA playoffs are this weekend and we're expecting to do well. The entire club is amped and ready to go.
Wow, that's s really good womens soccer program D1 + SEC + ranked top 10 in the nation. Congratulations

Of course they do. This is s list compiled by iamyouth of players that have relayed verbal commitments online. Theres nothing scientific about it. Its just what one ECNL coach has been able to define by looking at underage female soccer player posts probably hours a day.
