How can you be tired of a Republican school board when fcps hasn't had one in over a decade?
If you are tired of anything, it should be the 10 years or so od a democratic school board.

I absolutely welcome Republican candidates. Better yet, non-partisan. But we know that’s not going to happen, so I’d be happy with moderate Republicans and common sense.
It won’t be easy because the local Democratic machine will paint any other candidates as either Trumpists (if they are Republican) or irrelevant (if they are Independent) but we have to get rid of this current School Board, with the possible exception of Megan McLaughlin.

Regardless of what happens to this particular initiative, Tholen should do the right thing and step down. Whether it's shuttered schools, anti-Asian changes to TJ admissions, biased adjustments to school boundaries, or poor oversight of FCPS spending, she has repeatedly failed Dranesville.

I wish the Post had written something that wasn’t so biased.
That’s an opinion piece.

I'm not a repub, but I attended school here and see the elementary programs in particular becoming very poor. Most of the people I know who are repubs have taken their kids out of the school system actually, so in actuality I think the community as a whole is more conservative than the average FCPS parent.
Is this a function of the SB or changing demographics? I think you guys are giving the SB way too much power re what it actually can do/decisions it makes. Republican or not-the increasing proportion of ESL students, the weak ES curriculum, etc-won’t change.
This school board has wasted so much money and time on things that have zero to do with education.
