It’s absurd the way Austin has been vilified.

I saw her tweet that says: "EVERYTHING IS ABOUT RACE."
If for her, everything is about race, would that make her a r...?
Remind me what office she's running for? I don't see her on my ballot.
Also, please quote the whole tweet.

They're scared of him, even though he'll have only 1 vote among 8 if elected. They know they can out-vote him, so could it be what he'll investigate, like financial accountability?
Otherwise, why worry about 1 vote out of 8 on the board?
As you say - 1 vote of 8 if elected. So what do you think he'd even accomplish, for anybody to be scared of?
Also, why would county councilmembers and Maryland General Assembly delegates be scared of investigations into MCPS finances?
He can get access to MCPS books and sources of funding (some of which come from the state), as a BOE member. He can bring that to light in public board meetings.

Wow, I was undecided but not anymore. I'm definitely voting for Steve Austin. For all these politicians to be scared enough to gang up against one man running in a field of 13 is pretty much forcing me to vote for him to see what they could possibly be so frightened of. I know that Austin's big on financial audits. I wonder whether there is some funny business going on that they don't want exposed.
I had not thought of that but you have a point. I doubt there is funny business, but more irresponsible spending. Maybe he will reign in spending and hold them accountable.
Also, as someone who is not well educated in the BOE and politics, just how much power would 1 person have that so many politicians are scared of him? That also makes me wonder just how powerful the entire BOE is that they don't want someone who does not fall in line. This entire election is bizarre.

There's nothing super damning but a lot of Getting the Last Word Syndrome, and replying to every comment, and basically just keyboard warrioring.
Not the temperament I want on the BoE or frankly any position that includes being in the public eye.
It’s better than the current BOE simply ignoring its detractors, compounded by hide-the-ball behind consultants and double speak. I’d rather have someone who is direct and clear in his positions than pandering a political animal.
