This is all so dumb of course they will let in Arlington and FCV. These are established elites. This is not like bringing in a new untested ECNl team. They are also smart enough to know everything is in shaker ground including playing fall season. This is good revenue. This also calms traveling because even if soccer will be played there will be hot spots with the virus shutting things down and some parents will not travel. Some parents even with very very talented kids will not travel right now and maybe not for a year. ECNl also looks like the leader by working this out and I am sure US Soccer will appreciate this. Signed ECNL parent with no dog in the DA fight. I welcome more clubs and less travel and also less immediate stress for young kids. The parents who are gloating and hoping kids will suffer are horrible people.

In the future, yes there’s potential to fold in clubs to grow it even further. But there’s already a regional league of ECNL, not that it’s impressive. Yes, this does suck but our league won’t just take you because you want the highest league. Earn it, as our clubs did.

Said someone with zero knowledge. ECNL will add in Arlington and FCV. There will most likely not be tryouts anywhere anytime soon.

Yeah instead of rebutting reasoning, copy and paste “no knowledge”. Arlington and FCV may get there. If they show their value. But why would ECNL just fold them in immediately following the end of DA? ECNL isn’t there to protect current big clubs—it’s the be the elite playing conference. Give it a year or two, see how they can handle themselves without DA patch. If their best players leave, so be it. I don’t wish any bad karma to ex-DA clubs, but I don’t want ECNL protecting them. DD was U18 this year before it all came to a halt.

Money! This is a business and will act accordingly.

I agree--go spend your money on ECNL clubs. Because ECNL won't just restructure themselves for U12 Arlington red parent hopes and dreams.

So, in summary you have a leadership change that happened essentially in the dark of the night as a result of a lawsuit, that made an arbitrary, large scale decision to scuttle an organization. The new leadership tipped off cronies of a competing organization and business associates in a member club so they could bail out before the storm, which obviously fueled the rumor mill. That club will potentially financially benefit at the expense of others who were not afforded that insider information.

Any lawyers on this thread who are DA parents? My sense of what’s happened here is that it’s at the very least unethical and possibly illegal.

Regardless, not a good start for a new regime in a questionable organization, historically.

If someone sues please also sue the USWNT, the NWSL, and China!

The guy who called Sue... SMDH Sucks to Suck, welcome to the hypocrisy of ever single sports forum out there. You will always know more by who you know. Don’t get upset because this time your club didn’t benefit from it and you weren’t sitting at the cool kids table at Sweetwater Tavern to know the inside scoop.

People like you are exactly why those laws are in place.

Lol but yet FCV still exists. At lest Di Dr won’t be able to ruin the recruiting process anymore and corrupt the girls Soccer side.

1. I’m not FCV and
2. Informing external parties of governing bodies internal decisions that financially benefit the external party is illegal.

So true. Now here is the question, how would one prove this? It’s a deep dark rabbit hole that will never be explored.

100% - the local VA and MD EXDA clubs will most likely try to form a new EDP division for themselves next year. That is what they did when the boys U12 age group got drop

You better be careful what you wish for. Lots of players will be displaced if local DA teams break up and move to existing ECNL teams. LOTS. All players should need to EARN it, like you said. Not just make a team because they've been on it for a few seasons. The best thing that could happen is mergers of clubs to create a dozen megaclubs in the area covering Baltimore to Richmond. It may actually happen out of necessity if the financials of smaller clubs force them to close down.

You’re correct. You’ll just spin up a new entity and call it VECNL, because you get an F for effort when it comes to name creativity.... chump.

You’re a f****** idiot! The name “Virginia Development Academy” has nothing to do with the “DA” Who gives a s*** if VDA holds the DA in it. Try and get a life and understand that the phrase Development Academy can be used for all sorts of things. Now I know your little mind can’t wrap around this concept but try to follow along. Anyone can use that name regardless of it’s affiliation.

I see the PWSI loyalists are upset about losing their DA patches. It was 100% about the DA name and arrogant, so arrogant

Must be a parent who child couldn’t make the DA and is bitter. Whatever the reason originally, who cares! they won’t get rid of that name now.

If there is no money in it, the pro team or league should not exist. Failing businesses should fail, not be artificially propped up. This means the end of NWSL. Meanwhile ECNL will rule girls soccer. Best older girls / college aged women will go play in Europe, learn under those coaches and we will continue to win every World Cup. MLS, where there is money to be made, will have their own academies, therefore not exposing enough of our top male players to Europe, which means we will never get to quarters on men’s side in WC. End of story, which ends up being largely the same old story.

I’m a PWSI “loyalist” and am excited for my son. He wants to play high school. What’s your thing with PWSI? What happened?
