I mean, they didn't knowingly do anything wrong.... they were on vacation, likely not paying any attention to news. They came home, felt ill, NOT unusual following travel.

What is the point. Enough people have already been exposed. Every person the NY lawyer came in contact with has tested positive so far - every.single.one. This is only a matter of time.

Do you know this for sure? I haven't heard this claim on a reliable media so I'd like a cited source please.

Yeah I’m pretty sure that is completely false. They are in quarantine but they have not tested positive.

Yeah... that's not true, because they said he took public transportation so NY would have hundreds of confirmed cases if this were true.

This is probably way too late, but anyone know if hand sanitizer, N95 masks, etc still available anywhere in the DMV area? Should have listened to the preppers...

Since their cases--so far-- are mild it is unlikely they would have been tested if they had not been contacted. Bear in mind that MD has done only 31 tests.

Supposition is that they were on the first leg of Grand Princess cruise and were contacted because they names were on the manifest.

Another thought is that they could have been on the Nile cruise. They have been doing contact tracing on that and Egypt announced that 12 crew were found to be positive today. Testing was carried out because a passenger, a Taiwanese-American, tested positive when he returned home. Not sure if that was home to Taiwan or the US.

I don't think the immediately realized there was a passenger on that ship who had it. So some time went by.

That is my assumption. On NPR this morning they said CDC was seeking out those passengers.

And from the post yesterday:

"All three — a husband and wife in their 70s and a woman in her 50s — were on a cruise overseas and returned to Maryland Feb. 20, officials have said. They experienced flu-like symptoms shortly after arriving home, and sought medical treatment."

The three patients “were out and about, because their travel wasn’t flagged,” Hogan spokesman Mike Ricci said. The investigation will look at “where they went and who they interacted with.”

Then why not mention the country? Shouldn't that country now know. There is absolutely no reason to not notify people.

Everything I've seen says these people returned from their trip on Feb 20. That cruise was Feb 11-21, right?

Yes. I think if these folks were from the cruise they would have just said so.

Montgomery County schools prepare in case coronavirus requires closings

MCPS plans - What a joke! I guess they can mail off packets to kids w/o computer access.

Montgomery County, Maryland’s public school system continues normal operations, and school and health officials say they are preparing should that change.

Montgomery County Public Schools Deputy Superintendent Monifa McKnight said plans for remote instruction and hard copy lessons would be ready should schools have to close due to the coronavirus. She was repeating a message delivered in a briefing Tuesday with county officials.

It's March for F's sake. Kids can afford to not be instructed for two months. Their brains won't rot. My GOD!

+1000 if schools close it will be a national emergency and all students will be in the same boat. They will still get into college as everyone’s isn’t going through the same thing.

There are plenty of districts already closed around the country
