If it was only that, no big deal, doesn't mean anything, why so much secrecy?

Mr Drunk on the Pipeline Gatorade please explain your Pipeline love on the reasoning for these fees if it is not paying back the 1.5 million loan
Those fees are what Pipeline charges every year.

Geez, that’s pricey for U11 and under.
Oh, and that million dollar settlement is true. I don’t know the final number though. The court case is available online for anyone to see even though a settlement was reached.

Really? As a pipeline parent (at least until my son finds somewhere else to play), I haven’t heard this. Tell me more...
There isn’t anything to tell. Just trolls making up rumors because they’re worried about losing players. There’s no $1.5 mil loan, or even a crazy settlement like speculated above. Trust me, Pipelines not hurting.
Them collecting the first payment is on par with what they’ve done every single year. Since tryouts aren’t happening this year, every club is getting players to commit. Even Bethesda and MD United are doing the same thing.
That's usually how it works :/
We had 24 hours to commit to pipeline with a $2650 price tag for the season. They said that they would reimburse if season didn't happen but the 24 hours is a bit ridiculous when other clubs haven't even begun to figure out the non-tryout thing.
That’s misleading, the deposit is fully refundable if no soccer next year, and the remaining payments don’t start until playing begins. The deposit isn’t due until June 1, so effectively you have almost two weeks to change your mind since offers went out almost a week ago.
Agreed-- this sub-thread was started by an anti-Pipeline troll. We got our welcome letter yesterday. It clearly states the deposit is due on 1 June and the additional monthly payments will start on 15 July (or when practices/games begin). In addition, 100% of that money is FULLY REFUNDABLE if there is no 2020-21 season. Yes-- we were given 48 hrs to accept or decline the position (don't know where that 24 hrs number came from since we all got the same form letter), but we have another week or so to make our deposit. Yes-- they initially posted they were going to have tryouts, but like nearly all the programs in the area, they readjusted on 5/13 when it became clear that COVID restrictions would prohibit tryouts this Spring and potentially this summer. All of this was explained in an email, and is no different from what the other local organizations are doing.
