I loved last week’s episode but this week was a bit slow. There is more to what happened in the cabin that they should have aired- it is on a preview to next week. They’re really dragging it out. I wish they had given the full story of that relationship now

I liked the episode and I usually don’t like adult Kate’s character. But this was good. Teenage Kate in an abusive relationship is just so sad.

They show her running out of the cave and into her mom’s arms.

So in the child Kate part of the story, when she is telling her dad the bedtime story, she says..."Do you want to know what the princess wanted?" and they don't answer the question but it cuts away to Rebecca and brothers driving to the cabin. Is that she wants to be saved by her mom or something else? I was thinking the "rescue" at the cabin could go poorly and make Kate spiral out more.."you don't trust me, I can handle myself, etc..."

Toby's idea of hope is hoping that his son isn't "less than" in Toby's eyes. Toby wants to watch movies with Jack? FUN FACT: blind people go to the movies, too. There's even a bit of the retreat when one of the speakers talks about narration for TV and movies.

I did think he might be starting to get on board when he wanted to take care of Jack for the weekend. But right now, his attitude irritates me.

I still think it's Madison in the bed.

I loved the mother/daughter bonding. It made me so sad knowing that they were finally at a good place and yet Rebecca's time is limited.

I think Kate is being a little harsh with Toby. He's entitled to his feelings too, and I imagine the reality of having a special needs baby is something that everyone handles differently. It's awesome to see Kate find her strength but Toby isn't there yet. Given his history of depression, it's not surprising either. She overreacted when he said he "wanted" to be that kind of husband and father, which seemed like an honest answer to me. I loved the mother-daughter moments. It's been a long time coming for Rebecca and Kate. I am usually not team-Kate but her loving baby Jack for exactly who he is, and doing everything in her power to make the world open to him has me crying. Plus, Toby is being SUCH A MAN about Jack: he frames everything about the loss of his expectations. I can't. Kate's abusive boyfriend is frightening - but has he seen how big her brothers are?
