That's the thing, it hasn't been "struggling" other than in results in several age groups. In terms of players, they had more than sufficient rosters in most of the age groups. This is your interpretation of what should happen, based on results vs FCV, not an actual business case against. Outside of the agenda of thinning out the DA (while the ECNL remains in the majority in NOVAO to "concentrate talent," WS-VA was not struggling.

Good results without quality of play .. for me would not be impressive.

IMO, WS-VA has struggled with both, in relation to FCV and Arlington.

I say that as someone with a strong dislike for both Arl and FCV. I was rooting for Spirit. I think their culture is better. But their coaching wasn't.

Why would they need to? WS would still retain the ownership of the DA and outsource the operations to GFR. They are already partner organizations. WS could keep Torres as the TD and oversight, but they would have a much lower operational overhead. I think US Soccer would be amenable to this, as they wouldn't need to lose a NWSL DA. It's a win for everyone. Except those here who want to see WS go down, of course.

For starters such an arrangement would not be free for GFR. And, if they have to pay then DA must be something that GFR actually wants to even have or run.

So? They would garner the lion share of the revenues paid by the players and would be able to use those funds. Are we saying that running a DA is a losing proposition? In that case, how does FCV even stay afloat, given that it's their primary draw? Since GFR was included in the meetings, I think it's a distinct possibility. They really don't need to be "on the same page" with Spirit simply dissolving.
