I do not let my kids blame anything on the ref on their teammates, etc. It's a cop out. Life isn't fair either. The sooner kids experience all sides of this, the better off they will be. Watching their parents act like idiots on the sidelines---that's hard to get over.
I realize some of you can't handle losing your 'gotsoccer' points, but really---get a life.
The primary job of a ref. is to ensure the safety of kids. I’ve seen refs who don’t make calls on fouls and lets the game get out of control. I will absolutely say something if a ref losses control of the game and lets fouling go unchecked.

Only celebrities get recorded? People record kids playing soccer all the time. Although many of the kids think they are celebrities, they aren't. Also a check on youtube shows many people have recorded crazy soccer parents. Seems like it would be ok to record a crazy ref also.

I'm a parent disgusted with other parent behavior. I side with the ref about 98% of the time when it comes to proper behavior. Yes--missed calls happened. It's a kid's sport---not the end of the World.
I do not let my kids blame anything on the ref on their teammates, etc. It's a cop out. Life isn't fair either. The sooner kids experience all sides of this, the better off they will be. Watching their parents act like idiots on the sidelines---that's hard to get over.

Ohh---and my kids were taught to shake the ref's hand and thank him/her at the end of each game---even if they didn't agree with the calls.

Apparently the Ref and a parent got into it based on some bad calls and when the ref approached the parent he was being filmed with what looked like a cellphone. Ref didn't not think kindly of it and slapped the phone out of the parent's hand. Parent called called cops and attempted to file assault charges. It was more entertaining than my daughter's finals loss!

Just my opinion, but the ref should only address the players and coaches. I'm not one to say that the refs are perfect, but I've been known to shout out to other parents to tell them to back off the refs and redirect the refs to the coaches for contested calls. It keeps the arm chair quarterbacking to a minimum. Society has gone down hill by all the tools trying to tape everything and posting for their own gain. I agree with a previous poster that as adults, we got to be able to address problems without violence or law enforcement. They do have bigger issues to deal with than a bad call!
