Have you followed college lacrosse? There is parity everywhere... the same applies to the DC region. Every year the DC region has a team that is top 5 nationally.
3 years ago it was Prep in 2014
2 years ago it was Landon in 2015
Last year both Bullis and Gonzaga were the top dogs.
This year, Landon appears to be very good but it's too early to crown them anything.
I can't predict the future but I can assure some of those early recruits at Prep will not pan out by the time they are juniors or seniors.
Bullis has by far the best player in the entire state of Maryland right now, they will drop next year after he graduates. I don't care how many senior transfers they bring in - Trippi might be one of the best players this area in the past decade.

But it does prevent me spouting off with the current pre-season rankings when the subject of the post was "reign".
So while I may not be a genius or rich, I seem to be smarter than you.
Like I said, to the newbies, history doesn't exist.

Those days are long, long gone.
Landon had a 10-year head start on everyone else prior to the mid 1990's. Prep eventually caught them. Now Bullis is in the mix along with SSSA.
Landon won in these early because they alone developed players starting in Middle school, the sport attracted their best athletes and they had a superior coach. Now those advantages have disappeared.
Prep now has 1,000 boys and a reinvigorated pipeline to Mater Dei. Bullis has shown it wall do what it needs to do to stay relevant. SSSA has little competition in Virginia for boys who want to play lacrosse at a high level at a private school.
My son, a lacrosse player, doesn't go to Landon. He attends another IAC school.
You are wrong about Landon. They continue to be a nationally ranked top 10 team and the top ranked boys Varsity lacrosse team in the IAC . The current rankings (and the UA rankings are conisdered to be "the" ranking):
Top 25 HS Rankings
1) Hill Academy (Ont.), 6-0
2) Deerfield (Mass.)
3) Darien (Conn.)
4) Culver Academy (Ind.), 3-0

Interesting, but you are missing the point.
When the poster above said "reign" he was not referring to a one year pre-season ranking. But instead, he was referring to the period of Landon dominance of the League in which until the mid 1990's they dominated the league (except fpr STA in a single year). It was Prep who finally matched them after Giblin became GP coach and had his own Landon-like middle school lacrosse program to produce a stream of players that could catch and throw the lacrosse ball.
The kind of reign that is being suggested is one in which a single school, wins the IAC title for 5, 10 or 20 years. Not a single year.
It's OK. You are obviously new to this and don't understand the history of lacrosse in the IAC.
