I did notice that Edith thanked Baxter at the wedding scene yet the historical advisor previously said none of the aristocrats ever thanked the staff. You would see Tom do it, but he didn't start as an aristocrat.

She could have made it home, but Mary insisted she stay in her bed.
As with Carson's wedding, she was clearly making a point. She hated to think of herself as a snob. Her concerns about her husband's situation and her position (and George's) was a responsibility. Outside of that, throughout the series she'd do things to demonstrate her lack of snobbishness. Mrs. Patmore's wedding coat anyone?

However; I can't believe that the fine Dr. did not end up with Isobel! I guess I was delusional; I thought she was going to come around to him, not Lord Merton.
I think Isobel and Dr Clarkson are much more alike but would have a very dry marriage of peers. Lord Merton is a pushover but lovely and madly in love with Isobel. I think they will have more of a yin/yang marriage.
In some way, were they also trying to show an arc in her character? In the beginning they were the, gasp!, kinda middle class cousins! Matthew made a point of dressing himself! He was a doctor, of all things! Golly! She and Dr. Clarkson made sense then. In the end, she was a lady and fit well with a gentleman (a really adorable guy and a Peer). I think there was a message there. Class was such an issue in the other marriages, how could it not be present in this one?

Watching Carson telegraph the "palsy" with the papers--shake, shake, shake. Yeah, we get it.
I'm tired of Edith's frowny smiles. The Drewes should have blackmailed her regarding Marigold's true identity.
Lastly, their sound person was driving me insane most of the episode--loud jingle, jingle, jingles--keys, ladies jewelry, and even in the scene where nothing should be jingling--Tom and Henry discussing business over drinks, Andy nailing up the pig styes. Ugh.

She sent a letter to the Turkish Embassy. I don't know if it was anonymous.
Someone told Mary that Edith was the one to send the letter so it much not have been too anonymous.
