Same. The plows pushed the snow to the sidewalks where it got covered by an extra layer of sleet and solidified.

No way is there a delay tomorrow. FCPS is definitely closed all week. While the main roads look OK on VDOT cameras, so many side streets have not been touched.

The elementary schools and all sxhool sidewalks are untouched.

The plows literally plowed one lane on our neighborhood’s main road down to the ice, and then put the snowdrifts directly over the sidewalks that kids use to get to the MS/HS bus stop and elementary school.

It will take 2 days minimum to chip away the ice. My neighbor has been going at it since 9AM and has just cleared a quarter of his driveway. He shoveled twice yesterday.

No matter how many custodians they call in today, there is no chance the sidewalks are clear tomorrow.

Sidewalks are unwalkable and pretty much uncleanable. I’m not going to risk walking to school tomorrow even if FCPS decides to open. I fell in my own yard this morning, no way I’m walking through our hilly neighborhood

No problem, as long as you can get out of your driveway.

I just looked at a bunch of words you wrote and I think Reid would agree that you’re not very bright.

Our neighborhood ES can’t be accessed right now. That is how bad the side street is. I don’t see any custodians or plows yet.

Did you just move here?

This, and the traffic cameras are the main roads. Many side roads are a mess. My street hasn’t seen a plow at all and I will definitely get stuck if I try to make it into school tomorrow. (I don’t have awd.)

Principals here: too many custodians cannot make it in today. My money would be on closure tomorrow.

I am not comfortable driving in these conditions. I would have to call in a substitute if she decides to reopen school when the roads are still so icy.
