not moving my team. to be fair, they're offering a great incentive to coaches and families but ultimately these clubs don't do well and the shenanigans are a little too much for me.
Do you think they'll pull it off and actually be up and running for the spring season?
They might get a few teams. They are offering to take teams and only pay $190 to move from another club. I don't know why anyone would do that unless they are terribly disgruntled with GFR which is kinda weird at this point with the changes in leadership.
People on my teams are leaving because they want to keep their team together and are following the coaches. It is that simple. We like the coach and will go to another club as a team to preserve the relationships.
Hope this works out for you. But coaches change all the time. A season or two at most is all you usually get, which I think is a good thing. If you really have a great relationship with the coach reach out for private training regardless of club. Player movement happens all the time too and there is little info about how 26/27 year will play at this new club. It's a good chance you might be looking for club #3 in less than a year
That is probably true. People are leaving to stay together, it's a lot of peer pressure.

Yep, and this club is likely to be investigated pretty quickly for ethical violations if all of this underhanded poaching and recruiting is happening.

My speculation: They are trying to get GFR to fire them but GFR isn’t taking the bait. GFR’s non-competition argument becomes much weaker if they are fired (unless they are fired for cause). If they resign, GFR would have a strong non-competition argument if they resign (and assuming that their contracts have non-competition provisions).

Doesn't make any sense to me either, but it's apparently happening. We'll see how it turns out.

You realize that won't actually happen though and you're being duped? Those coaches have not resigned from GFR and are still denying leaving.

Hard to get an entire team to agree to leave an established club for this pipe dream club, i'd imagine? FA and AG aren't that good and don't coach after U11 so kinda silly to follow them lol

What's the sales pitch? Do you have any more tea to spill? Fields? Leagues?
Plan appears to be to play NSCL under Loudoun affiliation. They seem to be trying to get teams to move without their direct involvement -- i.e. having players/families independently submit requests for cards to be transferred. It all seems very shady and like a poorly disguised attempt to avoid any non-competition obligations, etc.
Haha, judges do not care about the form of the solicitation if it was initiated at the behest of riverbend phoenix loudoun east fc. That's employment law 101. Also, non-competes, if they are in the contracts for the coaches, will still be in effect. And if they are trying to poach mclean teams they will burn riverbend phoenix loudoun east fc to the ground. Should be entertaining.
