Example would be a roster spot to a top program with very little PT available vs chance to play as freshman and lots of $$$ but for a program that isn’t top 25. Both can be considered success. Or maybe they pick a school with their major or close by where mom and dad can watch half their games live in person.
There’s also politics in some landing spots. Outside of the clubs control
Well said. And for our DD there are a whole host of schools she never considered because of their location and/or size. She will likely attend a slightly less top tier lax/academic school to meet her criteria. She’s already sacrificed enough to get to this point - she’s not going to go somewhere solely because of some ranking number - academic or athletic. She’s going to be happy.
And while some girls can afford anything I’ve seen posts on this board turning up their noses at girls choices not understanding that that player was seeking as much money as possible.

Or is it because they are waiting to hear from a school they like better? If that is the case, for the school they like better wouldn’t that school have contacted them on September 1st and they should know or not if the school likes them? Or is it possible the school hasn’t contacted them at all yet but the player is hoping to hear from them as recruits accept and decline?
Disagree. Many kids want to study abroad and not have the demands of D1. Not to mention many kids choose NESCAC over Ivy even without sports.
There could be a million reasons. This is a very long process. If you would like to truly get in the weeds about this you can join the Facebook group "Recruiting Discussion: Parent-to-Parent Women’s College Lacrosse"
Some girls may be waiting for NESCACs or D3s which don't offer until later
They don’t “offer later,” with few exceptions they take kids that didn’t get the D1 offer they wanted. Almost no one chooses Middlebury over Yale, they end up there after Yale passes.
Just not true. There kids who specially want D3.
Yeah, hence the “few exceptions” part, but most kids want to go D1. Do you not agree? Sure, some are legacy kids who are going to Tufts regardless, but that is an exception.

But it disproves the “club-doesn’t-matter-great-players-get-committed-no-matter-where-they-play” fallacy. There are plenty of great players on #12, #15 and #16 ranked teams. Each of those clubs has just 1 player committed to a top 25 team.
It's September 15th. Nothing disproves anything at this point. As an example, Steps California recruiting will destroy someone like Capital's recruiting.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Capital punching above its rank with 5 top 25 recruits thus far.
